I think the pricing is quite fair. The control surface is definitely going to make the workflow much more fun. As Sanjay himself pointed this out in an earlier video - when you have something physical to touch, it feels like an actual instrument and brings out your creativity. I am surprised an 8 channel motorized fader control surface hasn't made it yet to the market - imagine how great that would be for the workflow in your bedroom studio. Sanjay, cmon man pull some strings and ask companies to make that!

When I was a video editor back in the day I also wanted motorized faders and so eventually, when video editing was just a hobby, I got myself a Behringer BCF2000, which was nice and not too expensive, but then, I couldn't resist the Alesis MasterControl. A product that for some reason was quickly discontinued (I never wondered why). When I got more serious about music production I remember I have these great controllers and got them out of the deep garage storage. What I've learned since is that recording the volume fader automation, something I used a lot for video editing, was a bad idea for music. You want to automate gain changes with a Utility and not with the actual fader so you can still adjust your mix later on. It's still great for mixing, I have it to the side of my computer so I can listen to the music without looking at the screen and adjust the levels. But, one slider would be enough for what I do. I don't usually jump between them too much. This one looks more compact as well, so I could take it with me when I travel, so, Presonus might get me to switch to this thing with the right sale price (a Black Friday deal or something)

So, you said in this video towards the end, "I'm really excited to keep on using it". What did you mean by that? It's a beginner audio interface with DAW controls and cool features. What part would it play in your studio? I'm always cynical when someone that reviews so much audio gear makes statements about using the products they just reviewed. Second question; did Presonus sponsor you for this video?
@SanjayC4 жыл бұрын
I use it every day...but I don't use the interface part, I only use the DAW control features. The fader and all the DAW controls are super useful and very handy to me when I'm making songs. GSA Hookah I’m not sure, maybe he feels he doesn’t want to or maybe he doesn’t read the comments section, lots of KZbin content makers barely interact with their user base. I like presonus stuff and feel it’s a quality DAW as is the hardware, although I wouldn’t use the device used in this video from them myself. HEY!!! Penguin buddy!! Of course I remember you...I watched your video multiple times. Do you use your FaderPort a lot?
@finechordmusicsingapore4 жыл бұрын
Sanjay C yes, of course , the main factor is that I began to switch my logic to cubase pro10, then finally switch to Studio1 4.5 and my monitor is presonous, it’s very very compatible with studio one function like instantly add markers. The most important function is recording(transportation )buttons! I use synths Yamaha Modx and NI Komplete to record back tracks , lot of workload. If I press the record/ stop / back button by mouse, then waste a lot of time. Faderport it‘ s stop button ‘ has a great function. If I record something wrong, and I need redo, I just need to press space to stop, and Cmd Z+ delete wrong take,then single click the faderport ‘stop button ‘( yellow one), if I press twice, the function will change , it will go back to the very beginning of the song, just like the ‘enter’ key in pro tools. So it’s really save my time during recording of tracks and sections. Keep good keep safe bro. Your channel is like a modern instrument dictionary, we can find whatever new items in your channel! All the best.

Thanks for the video! I've found that the single motorized fader is a great way to control a DAW. My scenario was, for example, Logic or Ableton with a X-Touch compact. Having 8 faders was a nightmare, because you are never sure which fader is controlling which track once you start browsing through your project. Were you on bank 1-8 or 9-16? And then grabbing a fader quick becomes tedious because you find yourself counting the physical faders and hoping you reached for the right one :-) I love the single fader because I just fly through the tracks with the +/- buttons and see the selected track highlighted on the screen :-) In my view, a multiple fader controller only makes sense if said controller has digital scribble strips. Otherwise I personally find it more stressful...

I purchased the IOStation but I had to return it because it can not do a separate headphone mix from the stereo output. PreSonus markets the product like there are two outputs but there aren't really, you only get one stereo output, that's not really the same thing. I originally purchased this for routing a live one-man show but there is no way to get a separate monitor mix from the main mix. Unfortunately , that's a total deal breaker for me.

The diff is huuuge ! i'm always with my old ECHO PCi audio interface ! for Win10 stability and pci ports i have to upgrade ! but i'm used to the "no latency" of PCI ports... hard to go to USB ^^ ... i had never play other instruments than keybords/expander... but now i start playing electric guitar.... can you say me the best option ? Generally Inst input not important because better record with a mic at the amp (so mic input and its preamp) ? Or Inst input is the more used ? so primordial in the choice of a guitar player ? and wich audio interface is better in this way please ? i have heard that the new iS14 MKII is exceptional in its Hi Z input ! Sorry i'am really newbie in guitar recording... ^^ Thank you.

Hi. Is it possible to use footswitch as a controller switch like next scene in ableton , or assign some keys in midi learn etc. Thanks and take care.

Top notch quality! I wound up buying a midi controller and interface but am kind of stuck on how to get the audio working. The controller has a usb input, so the sound comes out of the laptop speakers, where as the audio interface audio comes through my headphones. Is there a way to get the controller audio through the headphones as well? The headphones are plugged directly into the interface. Basically what I’m asking is can I get the audio through the same output...

You should connect your speakers to the output of the Audio Interface.

I would have loved to buy this interface, especially at the sale price. Unfortunately, I also use an E-RM Multiclock, which needs a dedicated audio out for the plugin it uses to eliminate MIDI latency. If Presonus puts out a version of the 24c with four audio outs (or even replaces the pedal out with a single line out!), they'll definitely have a new customer. And if there's a trick for routing the Multiclock plugin's sync track through the headphone out as a separate cue mix, I hope you or someone here will talk about that. Sync through the headphone out seems a long shot, and I haven't seen anyone mention that trick on music forums, but if anyone ever got it to work and explained how, I'd buy a 24c the next day.

on Mac you can use multiple interfaces together as aggregate devices!

@@DaltonRimmerGTO: Thanks for the reply. The Multiclock uses a VST that generates a sync tone, which you need for gear with clock sync issues. That sync tone needs a dedicated out through the interface you're using. My UAD Twin X only outputs stereo outs and a cue mix for monitor outs, so I had to reserve the cue mix for the sync tone. (The headphones out now defaults to the main mix.) It doesn't *look* as though the 24c allows that separate out.
