I build my own custom keyboards for typing, but I use Corsair boards for gaming. Over the years I've had a Strafe, K60, K70, K95 Platinum XT, and now am using the K100 with the OPX switches. Every one of my previous Corsair boards developed unbearable key chatter within a relatively short amount of time. The OPX switches are absolutely fantastic and I've had no issues with them so far whatsoever, they even provide a surprisingly decent typing experience.

Linus in theory, I agree, but I have used the optical switches and went back to the Corsair K100 keyboard. For me, the pushback on the Corsair K100 outweighed the speed of the new Corsair Optical keyboards. By the way, I only use Corsair keyboards for work and gaming, but so far, I am not a fan of the optical variety.

I have a K100 with OPX. I like it, with the worst criticism I have being that I found out I "drag" my fingers when typing and therefore would accidentally press extra keys quite often (not the keyboard/switches fault). Curious, what don't you like about them?

I tried both keyboard switches on the k100 (OPX and MX cherry Speeds) and I personally prefer the MX cherry speeds. They just personally felt a lot better when typing and sound better too. The OPX keys are a little too loud for me as well and reminded me too much of my old 5 yo corsair keyboard.

this feels like a solution to a nonexistent problem. I've had my k70 for going on 10 years now and even before covid I was working and schooling from home so everything, EVERYTHING was done on my PC. Gaming, movies, music, work, school, you name it. I've never had the a key go bad on the keyboard. Did the keyboard wear out a bit over the 10 years of me having it, ofcourse, i've had to replace the keycaps once because even though they are 'antighosting' i still managed to wear through the out layer of black to expose the translucent white layer below, but the keyboard still types without any issues, no double typing/pressing, no major issues at all. Hell I've even spilled water on the damn thing like 7 times and it still works. The one thing that I do like in the k100 is the multifunction dial at the top left. Problem is i cant stand the g keys to the left. i always end up pressing those by accident so at this point i'll upgrade if they release a version of the k100 without the g keys (k80?) or if my k70 goes bad.

Also, if anything happens to your keyboard and it is outside of the warranty, CORSAIR does NOT repair their keyboard products... at all.
