Been awhile since I've seen the film, but if I recall correctly, I remember there being a brief moment of saying how some celebrities were aliens as well. That little bit of world building helps makes the "Elvis is not dead" line both be funnier and a lot more plausible without the need of questioning. Going to have to rewatch this movie soon after this clip.

This has to be one of the most spot on choices for music in cinema history. The upbeat tempo and energy in a fast car scene, the dated music being played by an older agent, everything about it, even down to the cheesyness of the song matches when Will Smith is squirming around and his butt is in the camera. Given how people drive with cars that stay on the road and do not have thrusters that can be deployed. How bad do you think things would get if they existed. The same with flying cars. People cannot even stay in their lanes on the roads that are marked and follow the rules of the road to ensure everyone's safety. Now imagine if it is in the air. No physical lanes, how do you stop them if they are doing something wrong. Cannot just pull them over. What are you going to do shoot them down? I think that may cause some reason for concern and discontent with people. We are not ready for either form of technology.

The VFX of this film is amazing!!! Jurassic Park, Titanic, Terminator 2 are always remembered as a VFX revolution, but never MIB. This film are so underated. The characters are great, the villain is scary, the VFX is perfect, the humor Works every time, the story is original and creative... It's a masterpiece.

I mean tbf, today there's this general feeling that less CGI is better. Its become quite stigmatized due to tons of movies in the 00s and 10s pretty much relying 90% on CGI, flashy explosions, strange creatures and whatnot with 5% actor investments and 5% the actual stories. I can probably count on my hands the number of movies in those years relying heavily on CGI that were actually decent. And then there's movies like Interstellar which curiously barely use any CGI whatsoever, but in the bits where they do use it it's just fantastic. Hell, Christopher Nolan had 500 acres of corn planted just for the car to plow through it - then he sold the corn and *made f'cking profit from it*

I like that K actually put in an 8-track tape. Those were out of fashion in the 80's to be replaced by cassette tapes before finally going to CD's. This car has to be pretty old to have an 8-track player in it, but then it makes no sense because it has hyperjets on the back.
