@boondogglet1322 жыл бұрын
Look at the stars was reused in the second film when J is trying to get K to remember. Its because after so many years of exposure and training that certain things become impulsive or by instinct. Almost like an image burned into a tv screen. I think its because when the former agents see the stars, its something that feels familiar and calming. this just goes to show the true caliber of the trilogy that almost 30 years later and we still havent unpacked everything MiB has to offer

It's part of commanding respect. He knows the people doubt him, that's fine but he still has the power and he knows it. The Officers rightfully doubt who they're dealing with but figured either way they would be in the right, as in catching the more serious offense or doing the right thing. This kind of attitude can be used by anyone in the right situations, it's best not claim you have power but silently suggest you do. Take it this way, someone with real power usually won't argue with someone who doubts them because in the end they're right, instead of saying "I will have you fired" they might just ask for them to clarify their name. This is a complex idea so naturally no simple explanation is perfect but this kind of thing can drastically change situations. You will see it a lot in many better written movies, some fail miserably at conveying it. True power or wealth isn't something you should have to even tell someone about, them believing you or not doesn't matter usually. Why waste your time?

It shows us that there are aliens living secretly amongst the population. It gives us a peek at the weaponry at the disposal of the MIB. 5:19 As someone who dabbled with sound design, I love the SFX right here. Love it. Also, dearly love the melencholic strings in the background as K and D discuss the stars. Gut punch here and at the end. MIB i and MIB iii tower over MIB ii in the main because they have more emotion. Not that ii doesn't, but i and iii do it so much better.

Alien: Knows two of MiB's finest are armed with weapons that can kill him instantly. Is complying with arrest. Sees a bystander who isn't even a threat and decides the most logical course of action is turning his back to them and zerg rushing the bystander while giving the two trained armed men a free shot at his back. If anything his best shot is trying to overwhelm those two the second they took their eyes off him and put it on the bystander..

Always wonder what kind of 'new' life they made for D after he was retired. Maybe they ran with his 'looking at the stars' thing, and set up a position for him at SETI or something, surrounded by real SETI people, and other retired agents. Something peaceful and quiet, while also loosely monitored, because even though the neuralizer works almost 100% of the time...you can never be too careful.

Assuming the original MiB is set in year it came out (1997), you can use lore details to calculate backwards and figure out that the MiB was founded in 1947. This seems very reasonable, since 1947 was the year of the Roswell Crash, and that's far too convenient to be a coincidence. This also suggests the Roswell Crash was what caused humans (or at least Americans) to learn about the existence of aliens.
