Never ever used a pressure washer, looking at picking up the k4. When just use the water on the car, do you use max pressure?

Karcher recommend that you use the vario lance on medium pressure when cleaning car paintwork.

I have a garden hose that I can only fit to a hot water tap fitting in the house. I have the same power washer as this, but read somewhere that you should not go above 40 degrees for hot water. with the Karcher washers. I have not used the power washer yet, but my gas combi boiler does let me turn the hot water temp down to 40 (lowest setting), is usually sits at 58 for hot water on demand. I also have Bilt Hamber auto wash concentrate to mix in a bucket and not sure whether I should put hot water in the buckets or use the same lower 40 degrees setting for this as I should with the power washer.

You are right, Karcher do specify a maximum water temperature of 40°C. However, I am surprised that you can't find a way to attach your hose to a cold tap. If it is possible, I would look to fit a tap onto an external wall and then attach your pressure washer to this.

Or turn your boiler off at the wall socket 👍🏻

@RAGGYDO11 turning the heating off while he washes the car. That will go down well with the rest of the household 😂

Yeah 😂 Your advice is the best way to go, was just for information that this could be an option if required.

Should be using an applicator when drying your car with a fibre towel.

You think it's worth shampooing with a snow cannon, then washing with soap/bucket method or do you think it's a waste of resources?
@bigtedshome9 ай бұрын
I think it's definitely worth giving the car a snow foam pre-wash first. If you don't, you will be potentially dragging all sorts of stuck on grime and grit across your paintwork. Most snow foams are diluted before use (typically 4 or 5 parts water to one part detergent) so you don't actually use that much.

Polar Wash is a contact wash NOT a pre-wash so should not be used with a pressuure washer, it should be added toa bucket and applied with a mitt to physically wash the car!!! But a good result all the same.
@bigtedshome5 ай бұрын
Thanks David. The Polar Wash I used is a contact wash but it is designed to be applied by foam cannon after the Polar Blast snow foam pre-wash. This link gives the details: amzn.to/3vMei0d

I've got the same setup as you mate. I've just got the Mosmatic Stainless Steel Pressure Washer Lance. Hopefully the weather will be good tomorrow and I'll be able to test it on my car as its my day off. 👍

Sounds good. I'll have a look at that lance. I'm at the races tomorrow so we will both be hoping for good weather 🙏

@@bigtedshome got mine from yum yum cars here in the UK, a little expensive at £85, but I think it's what the pros seem to use. Good luck at the races. 🤞

@@2namtaB Thanks, I'll need it! Let me know how you get on with the lance.
