Great video, Trent! My wife purchased the Growlerwerks 64oz version (copper) a couple years ago as a gift. Although it looks great, it has never worked well. GW support was great and replaced several defective parts, but it's still never worked well. Biggest complaints are the units inability to hold pressure and the constantly sticking of the tap. Makes it rather embarrassing when you have a great homebrew, then when you go to serve it, it's not carbonated (even when in there for a short time), or it won't pour. Wish there would have been other options when this was purchased, cause it just sits on a shelf in the brewery.

Thanks for sharing your experience and glad to hear that I’m not the only who has had some issues with that tap. I didn’t expect much when comparing the two but to me seems like there is a clear winner. Bummer though, but at least you got a nice prop for your brewery I guess 😅

My buddy has a Growler Works and he loves it. He even put it in a Styrofoam cooler and loads it with ice, pokes a whole through the side for the tap as well to keep it cold during hot days. Got to say though the Craft Master does seem like a better product though.

Great vid Trent! This always looked so cool! Dude, where do you get your co2 refilled in Oceanside? Just moved back here and received a diy kegerator set up but tanks empty.

Where does the CO2 come from?
@charleschapman2428 Жыл бұрын
You need to buy the EXTRA cap, around $40 dollars. Then you can either charge the growler with your own CO2 or you could BUY a mini regulator and BUY the small CO2 cartridges to pressure it. Honestly, unless you've got money to burn, just bring a cooler filled with your favorite beverage with you.

The Growlerwerks is a beautiful piece of art. I know the video is sponsored by Craft Master so a point was attempted on the shape, but its milk jug square can only fit into that fridge door one way, and the Ukeg was only impeded by the gauge so technically it can fit into that fridge door 320 degrees rotated. The only real advantage is the kegerator attachment. For most craft brew lovers, I'd say go with what one has the look you like the best.

Anyone here know a good method for using the craft master for force carbonating homebrew? Like what psi would i want to force carb and can the growler actually take the psi needed
@ElementaryBrewingCo2 жыл бұрын
I have used three different kinds of these. I never thought to look for an attachment that can hook directly to my CO2 tank in my kegerator… I may just end up using these a lot more now. Thanks for the tips, cheers!

Glass growlers suck! I received a GrowlerWerks 64oz many years ago; it is a love hate relationship. I agree the tap does get sticky, just run it under warm water. I do recommend the ball lock cap. Customer service has been very good and the original cap was updated; the original was very frustrating. I also had to replace the gauge twice (no, I am not over pressurizing it with the ball lock lid). ** If you order the GrowlerWerks, I recommend purchasing the maintenance kit (extra O-rings and tool (you could 3D print a tool, but just buy the tool, it works so much better)).**

This was an awesome, well made video. We didn't know pressurized growlers existed, definitely adding this to our wish list. I especially enjoy that they use those small replaceable CO2 canisters. Thanks for sharing. Best, David and Rachel from CFS!

WOW those are VERY expensive for a 1/2 or 1 gallon keg, Man Made Mead just did a comparison and the 1 gallon kegs he used were between $80 - $159. I wonder what the differences are from these that you are reviewing to those that Man Made Mead reviewed. So far the only difference I see is that these have the ball lock that allow you to attach a co2 tank where his were co2 cartridges except for one.
@TheBruSho2 жыл бұрын
Yeah I saw that video too and would also be interested in comparing them. I think for one the size and form are definitely different. I think it might be tough to fit the ones he showed in a normal fridge with the way their co2 carts attach. But those seem like great options if all you need is a mini keg.

Hi, Can you try to force carbonate in the keg? I've seen some folks using these to force carbonate with the small CO2 cartridge. Seems like there's some success and some fails. I have a pretty compact setup and probably won't get a 5gal keg unless we move. I'm tired of waiting weeks for conditioning, so I wondering if this would be a good solution for folks with limited space or don't want to invest in bigger equipment and tanks.
@TheBruSho2 жыл бұрын
Yeah totally, it might take a few cartridges to get to full carbonation but it can work if that's all you're able to do right now
