Put the floor in, add a ladder from the room and have the most epic "tree house" for the boys. Would still be a 9,5m ceiling height. You could put a few levels of nets going upward too so they (or you) can climb up and chill out in the top section.

With the possible temporary or permanent floor in the tower. How about once you’ve done the work needed with the roof, make part of that floor out of toughened glass. It could then be used as well as seeing up through it to the structure (more work down the line I know, not like you have enough to do 😅) - just a thought (and it adds more strength to the tower.

Suggestion, but you probably already got this.... put the floor around the outside of the room with a square hole in the middle and an ornate railing around it. Then you can look up or look down and the spectacle will be magnificent from either directions. Put your iron beams in a hash mark ( # ) patter with the center open. You can close it off during the roof build and the open it up when you are done.

Some details of the destroyed building look very good, they have been spared by time. There used to be excellent craftsmen who did their work with crude, primitive tools. If it had not been for the fire, the small palace would have delighted us with its modest beauty. I am glad that people so passionate about their project have taken it into their own hands. I can’t help but think that some additional small windows would be great in the tower. In fact, they could line up above the turquoise ceramic pieces already there (leaving a couple of meters between of the red/orange brick). IMO after all this, there should be a way to look out upon the countryside from fairly close to the roof of the tower.

In a perfect world, if I could visit, I would like to climb the stairs of the tower to the top to look around versus looking up the 12m of the inside of the tower. It's like looking up the arm of the Statue of Liberty, versus the opportunity of climbing the arm and seeing NYC from the outlook surrounding the torch.

How about putting in a partial mezzanine floor so that you can look up through the centre and then up again to the inside of the tower. Then you'd have the best of both worlds an extra story plus the extra height of the tower.

Suggestion for the tower…floor either side with walkway/bridge linking each side (through the middle or along one side against the wall). A double story library vibe with a view all the way up the tower and all the timber roof structure visible. ❤ love watching the progress
