The bottle is Van Cleef and Arpel Eau de Toilette First. The scent is called First and was made in Paris by Van Cleef and Arpel (a haute couture jewelry company…..they make one of a kind gold, platinum, Diamond, and other rare stone jewelry). Keep that lovely old perfume bottle!

Yes, definitely exactly the sort of perfume that would have been owned by the family that owned the chateau at the time of the fire.

Out of curiosity, how did a big pile of dirt end up there? Did I miss video explaining the dirt pile? It understand the wood, stone, and other building debris. But I am perplexed by the massive amount of dirt.

Hi guys I use to work in the perfume department of Gatwick duty free and I recognise that bottle. It's Van Cleef and Arpels atomiseur eau de toilette called First 87. It was the first perfume released by a Jeweller. Originally only a perfume but in 1987 they released a cheaper version EAU de Toilette hence the 87 on the bottle. In those days it retailed for around £150. Now a vintage bottle unopened can fetch around £350. Keep up the great work. Never miss an episode.

It is just fantastic that of all the fundamental life challenges, you would ponder this and take action. The excellent filming, editing and music choices are outstanding. It's inspiring. Keep smiling!

Oof, yeah, I had a suspicion that those floors weren't actually safe and were going to have to come down and be rebuilt throughout that ground floor, but the way it was moving with that tree is definitely confirmation. It's a good thing you've been stabilizing the basement walls already, because you're likely going to have to rebuild everything except maybe the outer walls of the building from there on up, including the basement ceilings. And the outer walls may yet need some considerable patching, too, I don't know if I trust the brick and mortar parts not to be all crumbly after so many years of exposure. That said, step one is still clearing all the rubble so you have a safe, clean space to work and can see what you need to fix first, and you're making MASSIVE progress on that!

Such an interesting episode. Well thought out plans that accomplished a lot. Many people in the blog are concerned about safety. No one wants to see any one injured. Regulations dictate all workers need to wear a hard hat, shirts with sleeves, long work pants, and sturdy work shoes or boots, not tennis shoes, when working on a construction or renovation site for their own safety. No one wants to see anyone get injured. Take care and great accomplishment.
