Speaking of messing up, this is my first full year using Pete’s guide and on my first application of prodiamine this February, I had my scale in grams instead of ounces. So instead of just under a full ounce of prodiamine, I only used 0.04 ounces which has now allowed lots of crabgrass and other nasty weeds to come in. Oh well, you live and learn. Blue Lazer marking dye is something I always use when doing Herbacides, overlapping is definitely something to be careful of and the marking dye help with application to make sure that happens as little as possible. Would recommend it to any home owner starting this process and getting used to their sprayer + application

I would reccomend polarized sunglsses as well. For me, they help me catch a glare off of the spray I just put down and it helps keep me on-track and not overlapping liquid apps (that being said I prefer granular)

As someone who watches waaaay too much Lawn Tube, I can say for sure that many Lawn Tubers show their mistakes. They also show them for the same reason, teaching. I can say without a doubt that those videos teach me the most. In case anyone wanted a quick, off the top of the head example. The Lawn Care Nut has a recent video titled, "Burned My Bahia Lawn Project," where Mr. Hane sprayed a herbicide labelled safe for Bahia on it, but it burned anyway, because the tank of the sprayer had a leftover amount of a previous herbicide that wasn't. Lesson to learn: clean your tank.

Mr. Ferg, Watering management is a major part of maintaining the life and the longevity of a lawn. Having an automatic sprinkler system is needed if people want to be lawn nuts, in my opinion. I watch you vids all the time. I enjoy them and pick up new info from them. Keep up the good work.

Nothing you can do once its done. Few years ago when i finally got into taking care of my lawn, i got a little heavy handed with spraying weeds too... being frustrated that things werent disappearing quickly enough i went out and resprayed til i saw very visible results 😂😂.. itll come back.

Hang in there project lawn will get better! I have learned being my first time with my new lawn of fescue it is a lot of work lol. It frustrates me sometimes but I keep at it. Crossbow from Southern Ag. It is an Esther based weed killer for broadleaf weeds. Found it at home depot, reasonably priced, even kills out morning glory and other viney weeds, however you will have to use 5 to 6 ounces per gallon on the super tough weeds. Otherwise 1 to 1.5 ounces per thousand. It takes about 2 weeks to notice if it's working, then it's like overnight, they are gone. And I mean all broadleaf weeds are history. Nice to hear other Christians out there.

It might be worth noting (if it hasn't already), that Ornamec 170 is not labeled for use in Kentucky Bluegrass (just straight Tall Fescue & Zoysia turf stands). Doing some Lawn Detective work, I'm remembering that you started off with Cool Blue in your yard (and was reminded in a past video that it's still there based on you finding seed heads), and also seeded Cool Blue at this project lawn. Since you have KBG mixed in when you've sprayed Ornamec both times, that might be more of a factor resulting in spray damage more than the overlap issues. In my experience using this in both Tall Fescue and Zoysia, it complete torches any other cool season grass regardless of application rate or overspray/overlaps

Dude, thanks for sharing your mistakes. I’ve done the same with liquid fertilizer and ended up with striping as well. I appreciate all the tips and advice and the mistakes. Remember Edison successfully discovered thousands of ways to not make a light bulb. And look at the results
