It’s very expensive if your earning lira in Turkey but if you have dollars sterling or Euro you should live well on 1500 usd per month in most major cities. Except for. IE Antalya Mugla or İstanbul.

@@pinetworkminer8377 I live in Samsun on the Black Sea coast and 1000 USD is good for here. But for Antalya and Istanbul They could be pretty pricey depending on where you want to live in Istanbul if you’re anywhere on the European side near a subway station you could be looking at about $400 to $500 per month for rent. That would probably be your biggest expense food and transportation are relatively somewhat expensive when you have foreign currency like the dollar. To buy a vehicle they are very expensive here in Turkey compared to what people earn. This is a cool country with lots of nice people , very friendly and hospitable. Lot of ex-pats live in Antalya and Fethiye. Moving overseas is an adventure for sure. Note Turkey is a developing country so it might take some time to get used to. Good luck 👍

As a turkish guy i can give you a few recommendations from my experience in turkey... Tourist cities like Antalya and Istanbul are really expensive. If you want to eat and shop cheap there, drive to the cities outskirts with the bus. Just 2km outside the tourist areas everything is at least 50% cheaper.

Sure, if you go to Turkey with dollars to spend, the prices are cheap. If you work there for a minimum wage ($348) or average wage ($453) it's a completely different story. And it only gets worse since this is the effect of their economic policy that they still follow.

I am a follower of your channel and an upcoming new resident of Antalya.❤️ I would just like to make a mathematical correction to your comment: you say at the beginning that prices have often doubled in one year and, at the end of the video, that inflation is closer to 200% than the officially advanced 80%. Please consider if prices have doubled in one year, this corresponds to an inflation of 100% (price x2) and not 200% (price x3). 😉

@@allenjohnson7686rents increased 3X-5x. Minimum salary wage is not enough to rent a house, so these waiters ask more money,.or quit job. If they get more money, then the restaurants has to make prices more, it is close to Euro level now. In that case many locals can't go, and restaurants go either out of business, or serve you bad food since no circulation and food goes bad. So more and more foreigners come, rents will increase more so everything. The rent prices in my neighbourhood just increased 30% in last two weeks. You did not read it wrong, in the last two weeks 30% increase. I just checked apartments and cheapest is like 550 Euro / month and with special requirements ( it asks whole year up front, does not rent to foreigners etc.) So basically Antalya become like an European place with European prices. Government workers like Doctors, polices leave Antalya by hordes since they can't pay the rent.

I'm from the UK and will be visiting Sarigerme, Dalaman, later in the summer; does anyone have any advice as far as purchasing Lira goes? Am I better buying Lira over in Turkey, or should I buy it whilst in the UK? I'm only there for a week, and staying in an all inclusive hotel, so don't need much spending money, but currently plan on just taking English notes and buying Lira over there. If anyone has any thoughts/experience, I'd love to hear it. ✌️
