You're right, we did take heed to God's message to start preparing but not to take pride in ourselves so much that we don't ultimately put our hope & faith in the Lord taking care of us. I got that message! We need to make sure that we are taking care of our neighbors to give testimony to the faith that we say we believe. When we see what is happening in the world is just good common sense Prepare. My house with all my preps, everything I’ve ever owned and one of my dogs burned down in 2021. It took 9 minutes to lose everything. It’s been the most wonderful faith building experience of my life as God has stepped in to give me the strength to start over at 61 years old without family. I was burned and almost killed, and yet I go on, and I’m back to work full-time. I stand on the scriptures to help me get through especially Romans 8:28 and Isaiah 43:1-2. God has been so good to me. I cannot be sad nor fear. I am renewed even in the face of total loss. My faith has been made so strong and I am so grateful. Thank you Heavenly Father, in the name of Christ Jesus. Amen 🙏

You are so wonderful to post this ❤ Yes, an excellent reminder about “prideful”. About a week ago, I got a text from a neighbor asking if I had any eggs (crazy hen lady here). I quickly responded with, “if I have eggs, then YOU have eggs”. This is a young couple with 3 little kids - one earner parent and one disabled child. Across the street is a recently divorced woman with 2 young kids. Hey, I’m not prepping for these folks….but these are 5 kids who will always have fresh, healthy eggs 🥚🥚. And Sunshine - YES - I “got the message” as well. God bless you for bringing this up as I firmly believe in guidance.🙏🏻

@@sunshinestatesurvival I have an iPad, sooo, on iTunes (?) where I keep my library of podcasts….I simple searched for “Bible in a Year”. I enjoyed it so much that I’m listening for a 2nd year❤.They have a great way of breaking down each day into readings from 3 sections, there’s a short prayer of gratitude and then the priest shares insight/ interpretation of the day’s reading. It IS a catholic priest presenting this, yet I did not find this to be slanted in that religion with the exception of 2-3 days mentioning the catholic standpoint. He’s an excellent reader. The whole this is about 22 min per day. Let me know when you find it!

Thank you, sooooo much for reminding all of us. Daily, I say "thank you, thank you, thank you, Jesus, for leading me, guiding me, protecting me, and directing me every hour of every day. Thank you, thank you, thank you. ✝ Before you go to sleep tell Him what you're grateful for. Tell Him you're grateful for a safe place to sleep, your own bed, your hands and feet, fingers and toes, and that you can see and hear the rain. Being grateful must be daily, even hourly if you want. God appreciates a grateful soul. Oh yeah, Sunshine, I lived through the Cal Northridge earthquake, in West Los Angeles, and I had never heard of "prepping" for an "event." When it was over, and the sun came up, everything was out of the fridge and on the floor. I think I only had 2 cans of tomato soup left because I didn't buy much more than I could eat in 2-3 days at a time. I never bought bottled juice or water. So...Every jar and bottle was shattered on the floor with all the liquids covering the floor in the glass. Cereal, oatmeal, catsup, mustard, rice, flour, sugar was on top of that! In fact, I don't remember what we ate, bread I think. Bread and coke. No electricity for 2 days, no bath or tap water for 4 days. The clean up was.......you know. It's scary to think we are just a breath away from an earthquake happening again. At least I have more than 2 cans of soup and flats of water this time. A tornado or hurricane is scary, but sometimes there's a window of times to grab water and some food to get you through. An earthquake hits without warning. The story of Job was "trimming the vines", read it 20 years ago. ✝ Thank you for keeping everyone informed. You and your son be well and stay safe ♥

I'd be sad and discouraged if I lost everything, but when I'm sad and discouraged is when I lean heaviest on my God~and He is always there. I think it's important to note that, in the process of of prepping, we gain knowledge and skills that we wouldn't have if we hadn't followed God's prompting...knowledge and skills that are transferable. That, in the event of the worst, we can recoup because we did it once before and we know where to go, what to do.

The reference to Job is spot on. God doesn’t do bad things to his people, but he allows it. I’ve been impressed to prepare for 12 years and it’s not always been easy or consistent, but I keep following God’s guidance and that’s the best any of us can do.

I'm on a fixed income and food over here is crazy expensive so I'm thankful for whatever I've been able to set aside and even though it's not much,I'm grateful that I'm still able to share with others. Example..maybe a perfect one! On NYE..I'm home..dropped off the grandgirls back with mommy..& home before dark..in Cali.. NYE is a holiday that I DO NOT go out for! And we were have those crazy storms for 3 weeks! Big fire, great food..storm raging outside..wonderful..lost power.. No biggie..with 1 clicker..walked through and turned on all emergency lighting.. More logs on the fire! 45 mins later..went from LR to master bedroom..HUGE noise/jolt.. A redwood tree about 120-140 ft high FELL ON MY HOUSE! on & into the LR. Minutes fly by..trying to figure out WTH happened.. Grabbed a bag..with minimal clothes.. Emptied my safe..grabbed work laptop.. P-coat, Ugg boots.. Opened my door..tree everywhere blocking & stairs down to safety.. Neighbors already calling 911..helped me out & down.. Looked back up...tree is over/on the chimney..holy crap..keeps trying to ignite the tree..Rain puts it out over & over.. FD comes..fights into house..uses extinguisher to put out the FP! Standing there..safe outside & at a distance..trying to figure out HOW I would have/should have been able to prepare for THAT! FD moved my car out of my garage for me & I took my truck! Both are fully prepped, but I gotta say.. I was disappointed in myself! It probably took me 3 minutes just to jump into action! I kinda thought "earthquake" bc my house MOVED! Next..emergency move.. Not a fun January but no one was hurt.. That's what insurance is FOR! Everything was moved successfully.. Thankfully my safe has everything except 1 pow pow to TAKE in an emergency.. Cash, jewelry, docs, pows, pow seeds.. External drives with work & pics full back up. And my purse & EDC bags were on my shoulders leaving.. But we all could lose everything IN MOMENTS Its stressful..but my backups are at another site..so i would have still been fine!!

I am so happy to hear this message. I too got the message from God to prepare three years ago so thank you for saying this. I pray always for a meek and a humble spirit and to stay little in my own eyes. Had it not been for God I wouldn't have had any notion as to what to do or how to do it. Great reminder -- thanks! It's kind of like don't count your eggs before they are hatched. Every time I'm feeling pretty proud of my little flock and they are doing so well, then something happens to remind me how fragile life is. For instance, last fall when I bragged that my sweet ISA Brown lays a Jumbo egg every single day without fail, then she got sour crop and stopped laying. It was our 1st experience with sourcrop, and I was afraid she had or was going to get impacted crop and was in fear for her life. We had to nurse her back to health for several weeks before she started laying again. My French black copper Marans should have started laying coveted chocolate colored eggs last weekend, but I found that she has scaley leg mites instead. I now have her in the basement recovering and praying that the rest of the flock does not get them. If I don't check my own pride, I know God will not neglect to! Lol

I was just thinking about this today. I did a lot of prepping and out of nowhere my landlord sold the building and the new owner asked us to move out so they could demolish the building and rebuild a new one. I know now to stay in prayer because I feel like I did place all my focus on prepping and lost my focus on my Lord Jesus Christ whom will always be with me and never leave me. I am staying in a room until I can find a home but I praise the Lord that he snatched me back from the worries of the world and placed my focus back on him. Those things can be replaced but he can not Amen

Ive been hoping you would talk more about this subject for the last year or two. Your on point about not relying on our own resources to sustain us but to keep our trust in the Lord. I prepped for a year but stopped several months ago because I realized no amount of provision would be adequate or like you said it could be taken away through circumstance. I would like to challenge you though to provide pertinent scriptures where God tells us to prep. I've looked thoroughly and haven't seen any direct commands for us to do so. I mean no disrespect and I love your channel but am interested in your thoughts on this. In addition I would like to hear more abot your thoughts on the Lord exclusively apart from prepping, it sounds like you have been reading.

Last February I installed a cast iron fireplace due to florida power and light taking over our area and I received a $450 power bill. Had wood on the ground from Sally so all was good. Fast forward to October and I was patting myself on the back while looking at all the firewood I cut during the summer and thinking I had more than enough. Jan 27 and guess where I'm going today, cut more firewood. While I was being prideful in October I should have been working and cutting more

Thank you for this! It is by God's grace that I have been able to do what I have done. If it goes away, I have full faith in Him that I will be able and willing to do more and better. I've heard people say that God feeds the birds and He will feed them. My reminder that He will provide but I believe we must do our part. I love the story of Job and all the doctrine it represents. Job lost it ALL but none of his adversity was greater than his faith and he had knowledge (taught to him) of Gods faithfulness to him despite his staggering losses. Preparing is great but like any other work we do it is vanity if only viewed through human viewpoint.

This concern goes back to 1994, your own government can take away your preparedness, senate bill 994 and 995. Under IRS codes, prepping supplies can be considered hoarding and are subject to confiscation and redistribution as needed.
