You know what I love...that a man of the cloth likes a franchise like this. I have some very religious people in my family and if I mention ghosts or the supernatural I get the going to hell speech. I loved the last movie as it was a very heartfelt restart to the movies, but now we're back in the Big Apple with ghosts running wild! Blending the old and new so well, it looks so good! Glad to see your reaction was so positive as well, Father!

Peck? Peck wasn't the mayor, he was the EPA director that directed that they shut down the containment field. He might be mayor now but I guarantee he still has no dick.

Not the mayor, Walter Peck, the EPA guy from the first movie, who shut them down.

This is inspired by the cartoon series The Real Ghostbusters. This is the franchise after Gozer, who was necessary to help relaunch the movies. The cartoon built a lot of lore within that universe as the guys went up against some baddies found in pagan mythology and other cultures around the world. Samhain, the Boogeyman, the Banshee, the Headless Horseman, and plenty of others.

The only sad thing was, that they did not bring in any of the original cartoon writers or voice actors to help make it feel like that or just be a cool easter egg. A missed opportunity.

I saw the original Ghostbusters at the drive-in only because I promised Mother I won't tell anyone in our congregation I saw it. Because you know, ghosts are really demons, fallen angels misleading humanity, enemies of our One True God Jehovah.... Yeah, my former religion's now in its own ecto-containment unit next to Zuul🙄

The trailer was better than what was released, as a fan for 38 years, Frozen Empire was a let down. Good beginning, slow tedious middle, short ending, no good music or anything that felt like 84.

if you havent seen the first two movies, Father, you really need to watch them to get the context and where all these easter eggs come from. Dont bother with Ghostbusters (2016) - it was a waste of film and has very very little do with the Ghostbusters canon.
