I have a 30 gallon water tank in my trailer. I only fill it when we go camping because I don't want to have the added weight. That being said, every time I put the horses in the trailer, I make sure I have a full 5 gallon bucket of water and extra hay. No matter if we drive 5 miles or 50, we have the essentials. I once locked myself out of the truck. I lost my extra keys out on the trail. I had to wait over 3 hours for a locksmith. I had a spare trailer key so i was able to keep the horse hydrated and happy. I also had spare water and treats for me! You two will have trials and errors. It's just that you're living them out in front of KZbin. Thank you for being transparent and staying positive!

Thanks for the tips! We did have a five gallon bucket filled, but we knew that wouldn’t be enough in the long run

I’m 12 right now and I was a subscriber when I was 10. You have inspired me so much. I love ur channel and ur animals. I used to ride like a lot, but now I moved and there’s isn’t a close by riding stable. But I’ll never loose my passion for horses. I’ll never forget the feeling to canter freely and jump over stuff. It’s like nothing can hold me back

Thanks for your support! I hope you are able to find a stable to ride at eventually!

You are hitting it out of the park with your videos. Enjoyed the scenery in WV as the leaves are changing as in Monterey. Mention the route numbers as you are showing the scenery while driving and so thankful you tracked down water.

Back when i traveled with horses there were no cell phones and gps was expensive, so all calculations were done with a paper map. I usually averaged 50 miles and hour, which allowed for stops. When i was fuelling the truck, i would water the horses. When i parked after, i would fill hay and walk dogs. Then i would feed and water self. You will develop a rhythm, and having 2 people to share duties should speed things a bit.

This trip would be much harder without cell phones or GPS!

Thanks for including some of the scenery you're traveling through. I love Steve Young's videos in England because they almost always show some of the scenery and towns they are passing through going from one horse barn to the next. And they usually show a map so we know where they are traveling from and where they are going to. Let's us travel vicariously. 🤣 Pretty surprised that a national or state park with corrals for horses wouldn't have a working water pump. Hope there is a way to register a complaint. Or a way to warn others via the on-line site for the park. Thanks for sharing your journey with us.

Haha, get used to not being on time, it's not different with kids (you once said you wanted to do this adventure before getting kids...). 😊 I love being a mom of three kids (4, 2 and 0 years old), but always being late still bothers me. Sending you my best greetings 💐

Thanks for sharing the journey. Do you think traveling full-time with your horses has allowed you to grow closer to them? I know you haven’t been traveling that long, but I would think that it would either help you get closer to them or more short fused. 😬
