I think you likely added some already made salt to your evaporation pond. It takes a very long time to evaporate that much salt out, and you said it was overcast weather. You could have taken the remaining salt by weaving a fairly tight basket and lining it with a bit of clay if needed. You can always clean salt by desolving it back into water when you get home, then boil it briefly with egg white. The protein in the egg will clean the salt, and you can spoon the dirty scum off the top. Then you pour off the extremely salty water into a new container, leaving any sand and clay on the bottom. Leave it alone to dry and crystallise. Then you'll have bright white salt with no grittiness. Good to see you at the sea.

It might be a good idea to make a traditional, large fireplace with a chimney in your bedroom back at the farm. Just to have a heat source in the bedroom during the winter, when you go to sleep. Would be good to make it safe, to prevent the fire from spreading in the house and smoking up the room. Good job on the sea salt, looks great!!! I am also surprised at the amount of sea salt, so good job on that! Don't forget to wash it from impurities when you get back home, there's a lot of dirt in that salt. If you want to prevent yourself from getting sick, make sure to wash the salt! Also, did you use the salt for the crab and clams? Very excited for you, learning how to traditionally make salt. Now you know what to do when you need more :) Salt is very useful in that you can cure many foods for long term storage. It can enhance the flavor of your foods and is an essential mineral for us~ I hope that you can bring back and store lots of salt back at your farm, to be used and experimented with often! Try adding salt to fish soup, to chicken soup, fried veggies, fried eggs. You can also make baked potatoes with salt and green onions! Or even mashed potatoes! Maybe one day you could get an animal that can produce milk? And it might be time to make some sugar! But, you don't eat sweet food a lot... Still, maybe you could make some jam with boiled sugar and berries or boiled sugar and fruits. Will you be sharing salt with your wife and kids? I'm sure they'd love to try out new recipes with the homemade salt that their father and husband made :) Maybe instead of sugar, you could start looking into making oil. You will be able to make fried foods instead of soups and grilled foods, it could make your diet more diverse. Olive oil, coconut oil, rice bran oil, palm oil, sesame oil, peanut oil, soybean oil, sunflower oil, fish oil... All of these can also add more flavor to your foods and provide more nutrients to your meals. Should be relatively easy to make. Most oils come from crushing and grinding the ingredient they come from (grind down some peanuts into a fine paste and you will get peanut butter. Separate the crushed peanuts from the liquid oil and now you have oil.) It might also be a good idea to try to harvest some seaweed (laver). Not all seaweed is edible, but if you can identify the good ones, you can also use seaweed to provide more flavor to your dishes. LOVE the fact that you went to the sea to get the salt. The scenery is absolutely magnificent. The fact that you went to a whole new location just to get one of the ingredients that you have been wanting to acquire is REALLY cool. Would love to see more of you traveling around your country and learning and hunting for things to improve your farmland.

Note: *primitive* skills are not necessarily *traditional* . To me "primitive" means much less use of advanced technologies. BTW, despite tasting sweet, bananas contain a high percentage of salt. But probably not high enough to be practical with primitive skills.

Yes, delicious!😋 But now imagine,🤔 if Hương brought some fried banana cakes to this dinner...😜

Hello, Duong, I noticed a few episodes ago you had reduced the font size of your captions. i do enjoy reading them, but my vision is not the best. I did prefer the larger size. is that something you can change again, to make it bigger? it's still readable, but a bit larger would be more comfortable for me., thank you!

Duong. I don’t know what to say. I have truly loved your videos from the start because of how authentic and informative they were. I believe that is a big part of your success. However, this video disappointed me. I don’t care if something you make isn’t done “primitive” if it makes your life easier that way, because so much of what you’ve made already is done primitively. At least be honest about what you’re doing and I’ll still support you and watch you. The salt making process in this video was obviously done somehow off camera and it’s unclear why you wouldn’t explain that. I would just like you to be more upfront with your methods because this video has made me lose a little trust in this channel. I still love you and your beautiful family and wish many more years of good fortune to you ❤❤

In my place there are several types of methods for making salt, one of which is the same as the one you use, but the scale is large, extensive, one salt field can reach 100 x 50 square meters
