If you hear the clips where her father the Eighth Earl Spencer proudly says his daughter is marrying into the Royal Family then you know one of the major reasons Diana married the Prince of Wales. She was infatuated with him, she wanted to make her family proud and she knew she would one day be Queen. If that’s settling then bring it on! She was 16 when they began this tentative dance. Diana said they only saw each other 13 times when Charles proposed. She was 20 when she married. So young. So naive. She married the idea of a prince. She didn’t understand what she was getting herself into and when she realized it was too late.

@ You just have a multitude of reasons she SETTLED. She was better than that disgusting family with a much better bloodline. Her father should’ve loved her enough to keep her from the trauma she had to endure by being part of an evil family but like you said, it never had anything to do with love. I also appreciate you pointing out the massive age difference. That says a lot about the sick nature of Charles as well.

@ to be fair to Charles he thought he was doing his duty. He had to provide the Royal Family with an heir and a spare. He couldn’t marry Camilla at the time because she wasn’t aristocratic enough or virginal enough. Today that may seem hard to understand but back in the 1970’s Charles had to follow certain expectations. He didn’t love Diana and that was very cruel of him to marry her.

Yeah, this is not about a numbers game- this is about a man who married a girl who he didn't love because he loved someone else- before, during and after his marriage. Sorry, at that point she could have done anything she wanted with anyone as far as I'm concerned. He had no right to trap her in a marriage he had no intention of staying true to.

@laurac8659 Diana's boys weren't ashamed of their mother . It was the father who only used her to breed with and when he was done , threw her to the curb and went on his merry way with Camilla

In my opinion diana was never pretty but attractive. Especially towards the end of life. The Mario pictures were amazing 🎉
