caste system...caste system...these soul vultures are more fixated by that than us hindus. i am a tribal hindu and we do not fall under the caste system. i have extremely poor Brahmin friends and extremely rich dalit friends. it was more of an economical social strata than a religious one which by time got corrupted. They look at Sanatana Dharma through the lens of abrahamnic religious concept which is why they do not understand anything. i lived in a christian state in india my whole life and boy i know so much more. there are tribal fractions and denominations and the hate is real(seven days hated the most). for example i personally witnessed a tribe got split into two churches because one (the major) was receiving foreign funds and were politicizing the church while some members protested and hence had to split and leave the church and were outcast even in social events. i have seen the dirty part of their religion to the core and all they can blab is caste system.

thank you for that. may more voices rise. caste is skill oriented, and as recent as the fifties you could get a bag of rice for a quarter of a rupee or so, so it is doubtful any caste minted money for belonging to the caste within the hindu fold. Money, prestige, the printing press and guns were the full ammunition brits had to use to destroy one tenth of Hindu society. Because the Hindu lives still.

Hinduism is NOT EQUAL to Caste System. Here's why: Growing up in India, I never heard about the jaati and varna system of ancient India. Caste system was of course very well known. Jaati was a community of people engaged in certain professions like the Smiths of the western world. For example, the steel making people were a jaati and there were several thousand jaatis like this. There was competition among them but no Conflict or Hierarchy. When steel making flourished, the corresponding jaatis flourished and when the steel industry went down, the associated jaatis went down. The varna system consisted of the Shudra, Vaishya, Kshatriya and the Brahmana. There was inter- mobility within the varnas and no one was stuck in one because of birth. For example, Sage Valmiki was born a Shudra but gained knowledge and became a Brahmana and of course, wrote the epic Ramayana. Ravana was born a Brahmana but chose to be a Kshatriya and thus the powerful ruler of Lanka. There are several examples of powerful Shudra kings in ancient India. Also, for some Yagnas, materials had to be brought by people from all the 4 varnas to make the yagna a success. It was also believed that no one person should be part of 2 or more varnas because it'd give them too much power which could corrupt ( example, Donald Trump is a Brahmana, Kshatriya and Vaishya, all at the same time, a powerful combo that could be dangerous). Caste comes from the Portuguese word Casta and does not even have a Hindu/Indian origin. Lord Risley of the British colonial government was commissioned with the census taking of India. To implement the census activity, he forced Indians to register themselves into the hierarchy based caste system. Many Indians did not even know where they belonged in this hierarchy of classes because it was alien to them. This Risley guy famously said "as long as there is caste, there's no one India". We've to accept this, he was a brilliant psychologist and knew how humans would behave! I also learned recently that the caste system is sharp even within the minority religions of India. I can now confidently come to these conclusions that caste system has nothing to do with Hindu/ Vedic roots and caste system is a human- based problem. It has nothing to do with any religion whatsoever!
