Ya took the words right out of my mouth. I bought stainless steel ones. My guess is they’re trying to skimp save money. Even though it’s only a few dollars. Pretty lame. They could’ve also gave us stainless steel bolts, pretty sad. In my opinion the ones they give you will obviously rust.

So food for thought, could you technically mark where the rack would mount on the factory gutter rails, and instead of cutting them you drill the holes into the rails, remove the rails and seal where the new holes have been added with that RTV stuff, then apply the rack on top of the gutter rails?

Yes this can be done as well. It can be a little difficult to do it this way but it s doable!

It goes on the bottom of the wind deflector (the vehicle side) and just pushes on.

Your instructions say the second hole from the front gets a rivnut but this video says the first. Which is it ?

For the price you guys should really provide all stainless steel hardware stainless steel plus nuts and stainless steel bolts and washers let’s get real guys!

The great news is we do include all stainless rack hardware as well as our all new Pro crossbar with all of our roof racks as standard now! This is a huge benefit for all OG roof racks as well as our new Pro series. The mounting hardware is not stainless however as we need that to be strong enough for our rating and we cannot get that rating out of a stainless steel bolt. All other hardware is stainless though!
