Ordered a PRIUS OFFROAD lift kit for my second GEN Prius. I walk you through the steps on how to install it on the car along with replacing the rear struts.

Great informative video. I recently installed new struts to both front and rear and now considering installing the spacers. Can I use the current structs and sway bar links? Thanks!

Yes you can use all your factory parts. The spacers just bolt to the top of the struts and the sway bar links have enough length to function properly. I used new ones on my car because the old one’s were bad.

@@hughbertsprojects What are your thoughts on 2" lift? Any down side of installing 2" rather than 1.5"? Thanks!

I believe 1.5” kit was made to keep a better driveline angle on the cv shafts to give them longer life. The 2” kit kits more angle to the cv shafts and can wear them faster. I haven’t had the issue with the Prius but on other fwd and ifs 4 wheel drive vehicles I have.

Looks a lot better with the lift! You did a great job making due with what you had to get this done. It's also weird they put 2 bolts through the top and one on the bottom. Good old Toyota! Haha.

I was surprised how easily it came apart. A gm product would be rusted together.

Great video! I'm thinking about installing this kit onto my 2005 prius. I was wondering if you had any additional thoughts/reviews after having it installed all this time?

I do not have any complaints about the lift. It was a very easy install and has held up great during the Michigan winters. Until I installed larger tires I didn’t have any loss in fuel economy. The car still drove and handled like factory. I would have started with a nicer Prius if I had the choice. Unfortunately a few months ago it broke down and rust had taken it toll on the rear control arm mount. I removed the lift to save for another Prius if I find one. The kit was still looking like new. I live on dirt roads and they heavily salted the road these past 2 winter and I thought for sure the coating would be eaten off but it’s still there. Definitely worth the money for the extra ground clearance for winter driving, light off road exploring, and camping. I also would haul a lot of larger things with the Prius so this helped to keep the rear from sagging as well.
