you need to understand most, almost all indian places have their curries ready .they just cook the meat fresh and add it, also the rice is pre cooked. they said 30 mins because its depends how many orders they have and where is the location. so the fact that Andy mad a good tikka masala in 30 mins with rice in Fantatstic!

I'd guess he use the same method as he uses here ( except for the rice which he mentioned and other parts of the chicken probably breast, ( though i'd prefer thighs myself ) and have it marinate overnight if not longer and have it simmer in the sauce for 30 min maybe 45 min / 1 hour before serving. that's what i would do myself

I think Andy finished in time. The restaurant didn’t plate his food for him. But he used those two mins. after the call to plate... so technically he did finish making it before it was delivered.

I hope he tipped well. Waiting for someone even 30 seconds is a long time. Try sitting on hold on the phone for 30 seconds. I do feel he beat them if he didn't stop and plate it. Since he had to plate the delivery as well.

He mixed the gii in the rice though, aswell as anything else they did that he cut. plus they had to put stuff in containers so that takes the same amount of time as to plate. also you know.. .driving to his location. he did not finish before delivery arrives, so sadly its over.

There are some flavors that take time to build on that you cannot procure in under 30 minutes. Restaurants usually have the curry already made as well the rice so those flavors are probably deeper and more rich. But for 30 minutes I think you did an excellent job and would definitely eat your food.

You can pass the curry through sieve if you want more smooth curry.. and moreover I felt it was not ajwain in rice it was cumin seeds.. it wasn’t clear but I am pretty it was cumin seeds..

@@flowercook3915 I was told by a close friend who is Indian that its something to do with the wide variety of indian and asian cultures we have here. Ive lived all over the UK and asian food changes drastically. For example in the north east we have alot of Punjabi communities so we have alot more curries in rich sauces and ghee etc whereas in west yorkshire its completely different and you get much drier curries as there are alot of pakistani communities. Id bet it changes down in the south of the UK too.

I feel like this isn’t balanced between Andy and a restaurant. In a restaurant they have the onions sliced, rice is already prepared, marinated chicken is ready; just doesn’t quite equal out in my eyes. But that’s just me. 🤷🏽♂️

Isn’t the whole point ‘can I make this quicker than ordering a delivery’. In that case no one would have the ingredients prepared. His herbs and spices were all laid out for him in little dishes which I think is already a good start.

I love this new series! ETA: Like a lot of recipes, with some prepped ingredients like rice, making it yourself can be faster than ordering in. The clean up tho... That 30 minutes includes delivery. So the cook time of the order was probably way under 10 minutes.

Videos on KZbin... The style is called BIR,...British Indian restaurant .....Indian. Curry's made for the British ..........interesting bit of history....... Al's kitchen is a good KZbin channel...
