@Amadeus80944 жыл бұрын
Hi, your swings look nice on it since its heavier than the average rackets and it gives this slow mo kinda swing although I am sure its loaded with power :) I am just wondering if 314 g without strings would be kind of tiring for the arm if someone is playing more than 2h of tennis against strong level club players. Also, I tend to see more Blade rackets in the ATP tours (correct me if I am wrong) than the Pro Staff's. Why is that? The Blade would be easier to play but is there an opportunity cost that would justify paying a premium to get this new Pro Staff without taking account the new paint job which is cool btw :)?
@MikeKomen4 жыл бұрын
Getting tired all depends on the player’s strength and fitness. As for the blade most pro are actually using a custom “pro stock” frame, it’s just painted to look like the blade. They probably have more players with blade paint because they are trying to sell more of that frame. I think this time it’s worth the upgrade. The braid45 and string mapping in particular is good stuff. Thanks for watching!

For the history the racquet has and because of my 2 favourite players Pete & Roger. I’m thinking transitioning from Pure Aero to PS mainly due to issues of maneuvarability, control and feel. Otherwise I feel Aero is a great racquet. I’d like to see a comparison review between the two. Fellow Canadian! Currently using the 2013 BLX Blade 98 and was contemplating a switch to this stick. I'm a one hander who plays fairly aggressive/flat on both wings. I've demoed the 97v13 and found it a bit underpowered. It might have been the strings being used so I just wanted to hear your thoughts!
@MikeKomen3 жыл бұрын
Hey! I thought it had a real nice amount of power. Strings could be a big factor here. Another thing about this racquet is that it will either reward or punish you when it comes to timing. Keep impact out in from and it transfers weight nicely, late and you're in trouble. The weight will be behind you and power falls off a cliff.
@kornerdiregi30472 жыл бұрын
Hello Mike, that was a great review, nice job! Recently I'm a Babolat Pure Drive user and thinking of switching my racquet with a relatively softer one. As you may know, PD is a really stiff racquet and there was no tennis elbow so far. I wonder whether Pro Staff is as stiff as Pure Drive or not? I don't really admire the stiffness of Pure Drive. I know they might be from different universes but some says that Pro Staff is a stiff one.
@MikeKomen2 жыл бұрын
Hey! I didn’t find the pro staff to be overly stiff, it’s not the most forgiving racquet though when you miss the sweet spot so many that’s what people are feeling when playing with it. You should try it first though, plays very different from the pure drive. Hope that helps!
@kornerdiregi30472 жыл бұрын
@@MikeKomen Thanks for the help. But I don't have any opportunity to try. Unfortunately, there is no demo racquet where I live. Therefore, there is no way out for me and have to trust the science and reviews. Lastly, missing the sweet spot is the main problem about the stiffness comment of the others I guess. So, you might be right about that.

Quick question would you recommend a heavy racket for beginner adults? As I feel you'd learn how to swing correctly with it. Love the content
@MikeKomen4 жыл бұрын
Hey Harry, great question. I’d say beginner adult should be looking for a frame around 300 - 310g. I feel like that’s a good sweet spot where you still have a well balanced and stable racquet that you can develop good technique with, with a lower chance of injury. Going higher than that and playing consistently with bad form will lead to injury very quickly and will slow development. My advice for beginners no matter what age is that the most important thing for that first year is to just get out and play as much as possible. Thanks again for the question and thank you for watching!

Its interesting everyone say its underpower but u gave 8. Is it because of string?
@MikeKomen3 жыл бұрын
I found that the swings weight was really good so as long as your timing is good the power is there. It you’re late on the ball then it’s lacking.

@@MikeKomen thank you! Do y think any racket similar to speed mp? But for flat shot and control? Will radical mp or speed pro be a good choice? And I wondering what’s the difference between radical mp and speed pro? Which one is better to use
@MikeKomen2 жыл бұрын
As I was reading that first sentence I was going to recommend the radical lol then you mentioned it. So yes, I’d recommend the radical haha it’s very similar feel to the speed just a bit less spin and a bit more precision, so pretty much exactly what you were looking for.

@@MikeKomen will radical mp easlier to swing than speed mp? I found sometimes speed mp it’s quite hard to swing through. And radical mp or gravity mp is more easlier to swing?

For what I remember felt almost the same

Seemed like you really gelled with this racquet! What's stopping you from making the switch? I was quite impressed with this racquet too, especially since I really didn't like the previous versions. Felt like the feel and control was never good enough to outweight the lack of off-centre performance. Even with the v13, I feel like 320 is a bit low for high performance players, especially in the modern era.
@MikeKomen4 жыл бұрын
I was feeling doubts with the 320g but I think that racquet head speed you can generate pretty easily with it helps to make it feel as if there’s more weight behind the shot. Honestly if I would have no problem switching to it, it was that good. Only thing is I already committed with a red yonex bag haha. Also still have 0 complains about the vcore 95 to justify spending more money on racquets lol
@CourtsideSportsLTD4 жыл бұрын
@@MikeKomen Haha that is fair, the bag is a big commitment. One of my main hitting partners is getting a lot better so I'm resorting to blaming my equipment. 95 is too small I need more forgiveness.
