8:44 yea i wanted the Z790 mainly for more future proof features, but i refused to spend that amount on it and I said already no way I buying Mobo used. So I went with B760. Yes I prefer a dead on arrival new board than to go used.

7:51 PSU, CPU, Mobo are 3 components nothing on earth can get me to purchase used. GPU only if it's gonna be used to generate you know what. The ASUS ROG Strix Scope II 96 Wireless keyboard & ASUS ROG Chakram X Origin mouse were bought used. Came with original packaging and all accessories. Only things missing was the keyboard box didnt have the stickers and some of the stickers from the mouse box gone. I was shocked to see the customizable logo insert for the mouse in there. What I really want is the ProArt Mouse, OMG!!!!

@JohnLCharette Ай бұрын
Haha, ProArt mouse would be great. I agree, in most cases, I'd buy the CPU & motherboard new.. at least the motherboard. CPUs are pretty rock solid.. and if I PSU dies, it's easy to replace.

I have the Fractal North XL case for my build. I refuse to buy the Z790 board until a new model comes out that supports Gen 5.

Yeah, agreed. Considering ProArt hasn't released a 2nd gen Z790 board, I imagine we won't see Gen5 until the Z890 gets released.

7:28 i didnt get this thing because i want a screen, and i could get a screen and stick on it but, nah, it would be covering the ProArt branding and that doesn't make any sense to me. I heavily considered ASUS Ryuo or Ryujin, but now decided to go Thermalright Frozen Edge with Thermalright fans since i already have Thermalright CPU socket bracket or whatever it is really called. Then I will stick a screen on to that pump. Thermalright is a darn good company, decent quality and great performing products and they not expensive. I think I'll get TRYX Panorama AIO in 2025.

That TRYX Panorama looks pretty awesome. I'm tempted to get an Arctic Freezer III to try out as well.

3:58 kmt, i got a 12700 (NO K) for a ProArt B760, 2x16GB 6000MHz CL32, 4070 Super FE (will add ProArt 4070 Ti Super maybe first quarter 2025) to do Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Unreal Engine & Stable Diffusion mainly with very lite gaming. All of those things are not necessary because you wont really experience much difference to be honest. But it's also so I can upgrade in the future to a 14900 if I feel to. I will add another 2x16GB RAM and the 4070 Ti Super that I will be adding will focus mainly on Stable Diffusion and Unreal Engine to create a metaverse. 4070 Super will do Adobe.
@JohnLCharette
@JohnLCharette Ай бұрын
That sounds like a solid plan that leaves you great options to upgrade in the future. I used the ProArt B650 motherboard for a 7950X build last year and it worked very well. kzbin.info/www/bejne/ganHf3WNd62Ld5Y

Just jumped in on Amazon prime day deals. Still a little time left! 96GB DDR5 Crucial RAM $220, Ryzen 7950X3D $460, Samsung 2TB 990 PRO m.2 $150 going onto a proart X670E. Might recycle my case and PSU. Stung a little but some deals to be had.

You bought an AMD processor with two weeks to go the new ones ? 😮
@BinuralOdyssey
@BinuralOdyssey Ай бұрын
@@Gamer4Eire Sort of. I mean its going to be at least a $700 chip, and I don't see the X3D version in the lineup yet. And if I did wait until launch, someone else will say "Why buy at launch when the price will come down for black friday"? You get on the merry go round when the opportunity presents itself, and the reality is both chips are beyond my needs.
@JohnLCharette

Totally agree. I always tell people, buy the best that you can afford now. By next week, it'll be something else. You just need to make peace with it. Sounds like you got some screaming deals.

4:28 LOL predictable, I didn't go with T-Create, that writing hurts my eyes. I went wth OLOy Blade, the RGB strip is in gold color, so I can even turn off the RGB if I feel to. I have done a lot of research and i did a lot on them too. What is left to do the build is next week buy the 4070 Super, the NVMEs, then August deal with PSU (i still researching best option), UPS, AIO + fans and external storage with my photo & video work so I can pick that up on the go with my laptop. Building inside a 011D Mini, I want it on my desk but I dont want anything big.
@JohnLCharette
@JohnLCharette Ай бұрын
Ohh, I hadn't seen this OLOy Blade RAM before.. very nice! I'll keep those in mind for another build.

5:32 really dont need more than 1TB main drive, even 500GB is good (like my laptop and it has Adobe Suite, UE5 already installed with 220GB free space. But i'm gonna go with 1TB Western Digital 5150MG transfer, that is pretty quick for main drive with OS and productivity software. My laptop has 3200 and it loads fast enough. The other PCIe4 slot will have another 1TB WD 5150MG trans for AI & Metaverse/UE5 files, then the PCIe3 slot will have a 2TB for games. For external, start with 2TB WD P40. I wont need much more than that, I do not work with large video files.
@JohnLCharette
@JohnLCharette Ай бұрын
I agree.. I use a 1TB main drive and then a 2TB data drive for all of my 4K footage. Then I back everything up to a 4-bay QNAP NAS with 12TB of storage.. then I back it up again to Google Cloud archive storage.

7:38 i will assume you got a 1000W because you plan to upgrade to a 4090 or some 50 series when they are out? You didnt need more than 850 for this build. Only reason I am getting a 1000W is because I will be running 2 GPUs. With 2 GPUs (4070 Super + 4070 Ti Super) and adding another 2x16GB RAM, that's 900W required. But that 12700 only use 65W, that really cut wattage down a lot. And other than aesthetics, I am getting the 4070 Super FE because it uses 5W less than the others. Yes, I pay attention to power consumption.
@JohnLCharette
@JohnLCharette Ай бұрын
Correct. It's important that I can test ALL of the latest GPUs for reviews on my channel. I've reviewed 4 or 5 4090s already, so when the 5090s come out, I will be testing those.
@mrbabyhugh
@mrbabyhugh Ай бұрын
6:11 i decided against that because to me it uses too much unnecessary power to do what it does (4080 series overall to me dont make sense). The 4070 Ti Super is decent enough to me. 6:35 i feel if you had the 4070 Ti Super you wouldnt feel the need for more, unless you are only upgrading so as to look like you have the latest to feel like you are keeping up with the Joneses/Kardashians. I dont know what kind of work you do on your builds, but if it's really just a two 4K camera edit to export a 10min video ever so often, all you needed was that 13900 BUT with integrated GPU, LOL!!!
@JohnLCharette
@JohnLCharette Ай бұрын
I run a video development company and play quite a few games @ 3440x1440 resolution. The 4070 Ti was 'alright' and I could get around 80-100 fps on most games at highest settings. If I want 120+ fps, I needed the 4080.

Ahh, could be. I had been using a 12900KS (my test bench computer) and that thing is solid. That being said, I haven't had any issues with this new ProArt build with the 13900k.
