Nice video some good info. I know you said it has the ATI Super Dampers pulley but I was wondering what size it was. Is it the 18% OD or the 6% OD. Thanks for any info.

Would the 2x4 explanation you said around 5 min mark, would that apply for a grand cherokee 2011 5.7 as well?

That is not much power even on low boost! With stock internals you can't do much. With some low ring land forged pistons and good rods on a stock crank 700+ is the norm with good tuning. Gen 3 Hemi engines will always outpower LS engines SAME VS. SAME cubic inches and mods!

So you're telling me 6lbs of boost is ohk on a stock 392 internals? Do you hear any stories of a how long they last? Or is piston failure just simply not a problem at 6lbs? I can't decide between going FI or nitrous, a 75 shot perhaps. Either way, I'm not trying to pay 5-6k for forging and am perfectly fine with keeping power addition low because of that.

I've had 392's go for 5+ years at 6-7 psi with headers on 93. That's the limit I take them to though. A straight e85 tune you can push a little harder. 7-8 psi.

what are your thoughts on this kit when it comes right out of the box canned tune reliability? I have a 18 durango srt and I would like to go this route but maintain a safe reliable power level. I do plan on leaving the vehicle mostly stock with exception of a ported TB. What kind of power level can I expect with the out the box canned tune? A better tune would be eventually accomplished once i find a good place to get it done when I return to the mainland. currently in Hawaii. thanks for your time and great overview of this vehicle.

The canned tunes are pretty conservative. Usually pretty rich under boost. The kits are pretty good quality wise. Expect 500-520 with a base kit with their tune.

Great information in this video. I was wondering if you could still launch it hard when it’s in 4 wheel drive mode now or would that be too hard on the transmission or differential & break parts? Or is this SRT kept in real wheel drive permanently now? Thanks for the info.

I have to physically bypass the awd system to run these Jeeps on the dyno. When I'm done I return it back to full time awd. The awd system on these can certainly handle launching hard with this kind of power.

Say I got a stock SRT and we do pistons and rods and either do this kit or a something Similar how much are we looking at ? Or better yet maybe we could talk in person or over the phone

Great video what psi do you typically run them at that's relatively safe for long term?

6.1's and 6.4's I'll do 6-7psi on 93 octane. E85 I'll go 8-9 psi.

@@ApeMotorsports Thank you sir for the information. What are your thoughts on the 8HP70 durability over time on a weekend bruiser 392 a few rips here and there..? I'm so tempted but don't want to ruin her.

The transmissions are pretty strong and can take those boost levels no problem with good tuning. If you are considering a supercharger long tube headers or at least a cat delete is a good idea if you can get away with it emissions wise. It makes more power and softens the tuning up a little.

@@ApeMotorsports thanks Matt what are your thoughts on running an upgraded P1X(not sure if it's the right upgrade head) on a 392 at 6psi? I understand the upgraded head makes more power per psi...and it would have a lighter lower end punch? I'm looking at the safest setup possible (I know forged) but I want to run 5lbs..do you know of anyone running low boost?

I've tuned quite a few at low boost (5-6psi). At low boost levels the difference between a p1x and p1sc wouldn't be much. The p1x might make 10-15 more above 5500 rpm, but loose that in torque below 3500 to the p1sc. If you're considering a Procharger at 5psi, I would stick with the p1sc. A little more efficiency at lower rpm helps move the heavier cars. With proper tuning boost below 7 psi will live for years. I have several 392 customers with Magnuson superchargers and headers at 7 psi going strong after 5+ years. A Procharger is a little softer on the motor that a pd blower too.

8 psi. The e85 allows another 1-2 psi over 93 on a sbe 6.4L.

The customer ran that Jeep for 3 years with that setup. That was e85 only.
