Same here but do any of them even last that long any more. Another gripe I have is that all the major brands only have a 1 year warranty so if they cant trust them to go more than a year how can I. I can pay to get another 2 years but that will cost me another $400-$500 I will have to add to every tv (Australia) Samsung 65" QN90D here is $3995 if cant find it on special. The LG I am using now I have had for just over 2 years and now has white streaks of light across the bottom of the screen and no I did not pay for extra warranty . I am thinking of going cheap so when and not if it stuffs up at least it will have not cost me as much.

Got it for $3,100 including 5-year warranty and a stand. This TV truly is magnificent and I couldn't imagine changing anything of what I see everything looks natural pure bright when it needs to be contrast is stellar. Just an absolutely amazing television in all aspects, best purchase of tech I've ever made!

I like the 83 inch G4 for the price I paid. It took a lot to get the picture how I want. But while it’s not better than a QD OLED it is the best well rounded tv where everything just works. When I turn it on I know what I’m going to get. My S90c is so flaky, where sometimes the PQ is amazing, other times has agressive dimming, or it barely does any upscaling, streaming content is hit or miss, half the time I’m fighting with it to switch inouts, etc. The G4 just works and my panel is flawless. At first it had a lot of DSE but after a few days it all went away. I just din’t think I can justify the cost when the S90c is still a great tv most of the time. I just wish it wasn’t so flaky and buggy.

Good list! The top 3 TVs as usual is a toss up this year. From a picture quality perspective, your breakdown is sound. However, if size is a concern, then the QD-OLEDs are not an option for anyone looking at larger than 77". There the 83" and 97" G4 options take the cake as either would be a better experience than the 77" S95D or A95L. Digging more into the weeds here, I don't like Samsung's processing, OS, and the lack of Dolby Vision personally. The A95L is great for movies but not so great for gaming. So for me, with dark room viewing in a basement Home Theater where size matters, and having 50% or more of my use case be gaming, the G4 was the clear and easy choice. Happy 97" G4 owner here 😄!!

95L is still the best TV. The shootout tested S95D and G4 against the 95L and it still won again. The only one they didn’t test was the Panasonic because it was late . The reviewers just didn’t wanna give the 95L props again to sound redundant. This year was a joke they all tried to hype B9, G4 early on and then had to backtrack. Matte coating was awful in the reviews of S95D and that’s all Samsung added lol. Samsung no Dolby Vision, average processing, average to below average quality control, awful OS lol. If you want the true assessment of 2024 TVs,Caleb was the only one with the best and most logical breakdowns. If Sony decides to make a 95L successor it will decimate the G5 and S95E if that’s what Samsung names it.

I think it’s really close in terms of picture quality in general, but this video seemed to miss the mark “for everyone.” You have a stronger gamer bias than you realize - and I have serious PC gaming hardware. For TVs of this tier, people want movie (and prime TV) watching to be top tier experiences. Cinematic viewing absolutely is color and motion critical. I dislike how most newer TVs “cleans up” content probably because I had a plasma for so long. Sony does the best job at letting a new QD-OLED panel properly display cinematic motion hands down, and their picture processing doesn’t make things “uncinematic.” LG is close but falls short, and Samsung lags behind. I can easily see motion and clarity interpolation going on with everyone else’s TVs and it actually makes movie watching worse. I can get past it and still enjoy a movie, as only in a few scenes might I see something a little too jarring - but at this tier of TVs, I don’t want compromise. Where you completely seem ignorant is Dolby Vision vs HDR10+, imax Enhanced, and a bunch of other “silly” proprietary codecs and formats that can enable your TV to display a better image. Samsung has the least and worst support for those bells and whistles, and for many who buy discs, and even streaming content, Dolby Vision is LG and Sony only. So how you managed to give Samsung the crown for HDR viewing for movies is interesting. I get that a lot of movies, and scene to scene the difference won’t be know unless you know what to look for. Also, I strongly considered the S95D for the matte finish since I have large windows in my living room and even when shaded down, there’s still a lot of light let through. The Sony A95L’s reflection suppression works amazing. Unless there’s a very very large fully black area on the screen, I’m not seeing any reflection on any other picture. And even when things are black, only very defined and bright lights show up faintly and only because I’m looking for it.

I have the S90C and I think GMP is a garbage feature. I would not get a Samsung TV just to have it. It's meant to smoothen out lower frame-rate motion in games, but it does so in a noticeably artificial way. On top of that, it increases input lag and disables VRR. I tested it with the 30 fps mode for Witcher 3 and it gave me a headache. Lots of soap-opera effect, screen tearing, and noticeably worse input lag. Made the game unplayable for me. I tried it again with Witcher 3's 60 fps mode and while it didn't make the experience worse, I didn't really improve it either. I couldn't tell a difference either way. Definitely nothing that was worth the sacrifice to VRR and input lag Also, the Samsung UI and remote are poor. It takes more button presses than necessary to do the simplest things like go into the settings menu or change the TV input. And picture processing isn't as good as other top brands. Personally, I'd pay the extra $500 to go for an LG or Sony WOLED if I could easily spare the money. But GMP wouldn't play a factor in my decision.
