Truer words were never spoken. I have been playing for over 40 yrs now and I have constant neck, back, hip and ankle pain and problems, as well as wrist and finger problems. However, I am now working most of those things out by doing exactly what Paul is advising drummers to do. You have to really pay attention to what you are doing and do what ever you can physically to help deal with these problems and eliminate any little aches and pains that you might be developing. Great video again.

Paiste cymbals and Vic Firth sticks, great choices. Paul Leim, thanks for the inspiring words and stories. I've suffered from my share of injuries over the decades of pro playing, I experimented w different sticks and really appreciate Vic Firth sticks, always a great feel and balance. I found that practicing with several different weight sticks, and trying to improve finger technique and moeller technique has helped deal with injuries from overuse and loud volumes.

I may have to try a pair of these sometime. If one of our guys like Paul Leim uses them or says they are good, they're good!

I definitely want a pair myself

My experience with these sticks has been great. I have used them for years and they have helped to reduce fatigue. I found them when I was having some wrist issues. I tried a pair and now order them by the brick!

His signature drumstick its awesome. And What is a size of a signature drumstick? Is it 5B or 5A? And which tip? Is it Nylon, Acorn, or Wood tip?
@danalnajes7 ай бұрын
.580 is between the two sizes mentioned
@monsieurlehigh49125 ай бұрын
@@danalnajesNo, actually they had a diameter of 0.545" and a length of 16", so they were similar to an 8D, but with a thicker neck, a nylon tip and a double glaze finish.

jjBdrumming Paul is one of the best and on this particular project he's playing what the song call's for you don't rip across the bar line and vocal you have a certain part to play and you play it correctly if any of you idiots don't understand that you need to go to a studio and see how the big boys ROLL I can guarantee anybody leaving derogatory comments wouldn't have a clue how studio work is done you better look up his credits before running off at the mouth Paul's body of work speaks for it's self his work has only sold around 300 million units!!

Seems counter-intuitive. I woukd think that if all the weight was at the end if the stick, it would take more force to whip the stick than if it were more balanced through the stick. I'd love to give them a whirl though.
@MrBassab5 жыл бұрын
gokblok so I actually prefer stocks with more weight up front. Although on paper it totally does sound like it would take more effort, but since the weight is more up front it’s almost like the stick plays itself. In order to get a bigger sound they kind of just whip into the drums automatically rather than doing the whipping yourself.

Tom Lehr - keep dreaming’, Tom! You couldn’t even carry Paul Leim’s empty snare drum case. One of the most successful drummers in the history of music and you compare yourself to him?? LOL!! Good one.
