Impressive what the lathe guy did at the beginning, balanced the part by eye and everything is hand fed, no power feed. All HSS tools ground by hand. This is true skill. Big fan of the whole video, lots of experienced hands here

А есть видео ,где они сами таким же кустарным образом льют чугунные коленвалы. Формуют ногами ,что то непонятное из металлолома плавят там же первобытным способом и льют валы. Доводят до полуфабриката, в красивую обертку заварачиваюи и говно выдают за конфетку.

These cranks look like plain cast iron not very durable, having ground crankshaft s in a auto rebuild shop ,these look of poor quality, most industrial cranks are dropped forged steel and journals are precision ground, this is not to any standard of modern precision.

Cast iron is hard on outside and much softer under the hard shell very high carbon content, good in compression but not very in sheer, cast iron has been turned on lathes for hundreds of years with out the aid of carbide , just machined at much lower speeds and feeds.

As Dennis says, this is probably ductile cast iron you can tell it by the chips. If it's alloyed with copper you can case harden it without any problem. I'm not saying that it's better than forged steel, but lately most 4 cylinder crankshaft are made this way (I don't know if these cranks are getting the case hardening though). It's the same with camshafts, they started out being forged, then casted, and now the lobes are inserts on a piece of tube.

These guys are doing the best they can with limited tooling. Even by manual machining methods (not CNC) they are using ancient machines. Cemented carbide instead of inserts, old style tool posts (50s era), one machine even uses flat belt drive. They are using machines that went out in the steam engine era.

Балансировка была, ее не показали, но посмотри внимательно, когда одевает пакет на колено, там видно, что противовесы засверлены. А закалку возможно азотированием делают. Тоже не показали. Иначе смысла нет такое производство затевать!

That is what a production facility looks like when it's ONLY goal is to make good parts for a specific job. Not to keep inspectors happy or satisfy 5 layers of unneeded management etc. In this case 'good' is defined as a crankshaft that consistently gets the job done in an absolutely hellish work environment. Be very very clear. All these men would not still be employed and the person who pays them would not still be running that machine shop if they turned out bad parts. They keep the trucks and tractors running. People get their food and stuff moved because of it. They're growing their countries like we did ours. As far as health and safety, yup, different cultures are at play here. But I see the men still had all their fingers and eyes and stuff...I suspect the accident prone are weeded out VERY quickly.

@@222caribou Sorry about the wall of text. Honestly it depends on the company. I've worked in several production environments over the years. And they seem to fall into two very broad categories: The first is where their goal is to satisfy paperwork needs with a 'just ship it, we'll have time to fix it when it comes back mentality. And the client might just accept the part anyway...' 36" diameter water pipes with custom bends come to mind The other actually cares about what the inspector finds and adjusts processes as required to meet the clients specs. I'd bet a brand new 50 cent piece that these particular parts have a very low rate of not being fit for purpose. In this case big, dumb, low rpm and (hopefully overengineered) diesel motors. If you were looking for aerospace parts you're in the wrong part of Pakistan...

Havia as escolas do Senai formando Ferramenteiros, torneiros mecanicos, frezadores, ajustadores mecanicos, soldadores, retificadores paralelos e cilindricos, e torneiros retificadores, e retificadores de perfil. Cast cranks typically dont need to be hardened. Forgings and billet cranks are either induction hardened or nitrited. Its why you can cut a cast crank underside and not have to harden it again. U dont know what mystery metal these are made of but there is very little rust on them so they might be a nickel or chrome alloy.

What engine this crankshaft is used? This will work only for agricultural machinery I think. The crankshaft looks like made from cast grey iron. No heat treatment was applied. This can not be used for high-performance engines. Crankshaft made from forge steel alloyed is the way to go, a little bit hard to machine only and expensive.

The crankshafts that come in newer truck engines are brutally strong. A Gen4 SBC cast crank will basically never fail. Some guys have taken them over 1700hp for a season of racing. Industrial engines usually require a more and not less durable piece as the engine is ran at or near peak load for hours at a time. Even the ford 300 I6 industrial and truck engines came with a forged crank as the noncommercial engines came with a casting. Passenger cars operate at less than 25% of peak load in typical environments and can use parts that are way lighter duty than I/C engines.

у нас таких токарей всё сложнее и сложнее найти если хотя бы встанет вопрос о проточке кв под ремразмер, думаю ходить будет , вероятно выполняется заказ к определеным моторам ждущим их в других мастернях, даже шейки не замазали смазкой и не залепили калькой это видимо говорит что не не для продаж в магазины а в другой ремзавод стоящий неподалеку, возможно перед установкой доводить их будут тоже на таких станках под требуемый размер, нарез под шпонки для шестерни и маховика толи не показали толи по месту будут догонять
