I was sure of Tesla mainly due to reputation and charger network until had an extended test of the 530bhp seal and it absolutely nailed it! Such a great car, the fit and feel was a rival to my outgoing Jaguars, the HUD was great, and the way it drove was just stunning. Genuinely couldn’t get over how much it impressed, one of those rare moments when a car gets to really surprise you. I can’t wait to get one

I get to drive both. And the Seal is a fantastic car. We also get a car to load cable with the BYDs here in the UK. My personal choice would be the latest Model 3, but it's a close call. My main gripe with the Seal is that even in the higher setting, the regen isn't as strong as I like when I'm off the high speed roads. The main plus for the Model 3 is the Tesla charging network as I drive in Europe a lot and combined with the Tesla navigation, I don't even bother to plan my routes, other than the absolute basic directions and toll or no toll. The latest 3 is just so good to drive, but the Seal is very close. I would almost certainly have to fit a second screen on the 3. Why Tesla doesn't offer a heads up display is beyond me! And a must for heads up, is to include satnav directions. A great short summary BTW.

I live in Indonesia and it’s a no-brainer to choose BYD over Tesla for all the reasons you described - in particular the roomier back seats; but the price is 629 juta ($40,000) vs 1.5 milyar ($100,000) - Tesla better get serious about the Indonesian market because they aren’t right now…

BYD barely pays any taxes for its cars here while all the German and U.S. EV’s are hit with massive taxes by the government … India and Indonesia have to be one of Tesla’s best two potential markets if they ever did get serious …

There’s a much older vid I saw with a Chinese reviewer comparing Byd Han versus model 3. His conclusion was model 3 for the single person/sporty drive or Byd for family/comfort. Watching many other vids about Chinese EVs I think that conclusion hold well. I drive a model y, my passengers complains about the suspension, seatbelts at the back

Are you smoking something?! The Tesla charger network is superior. Much less faff, way more reliable, almost half the price of the main competitors. And lots of stalls, so you don't have to wait for a free charger. I have driven EVs for 7 years and deliver/collect EVs every week for a living. So i get to experience all the networks. One of my main reasons for recommending a Tesla to someone who has not had an EV before is because the Tesla; charge network makes it a doddle. I also travel across Europe and exclusively use the Tesla superchargers.

Bought the Tesla for the 300kg less weight and better efficiency of the motors. I flog mine everywhere and get 13.9kw/100km. It was my first ev so range anxiety definitely played a role. Will eventually replace my 2nd car (Megane 265) with another ev soon.

BYD has a few options, you can swipe on the screen or there's a button on the steering wheel to adjust fan and temperature also you can just use voice commands, the vents I've just set them on swing and haven't changed it since, amazing car😊

You are wrong, and that statement makes no sense. There are various drivetrain options for both vehicles. The model 3 performance is faster than the seal performance. 0-100km/h, model 3 performance 3.2sec, seal performance 3.8sec.

Here in Finland, Tesla is definitely the way to go. Winters are cold, and right now the temperature is -15°C (5°F), with the coldest this winter having been -30°C (-22°F). Thanks to Tesla's battery heating system, I've been able to charge at over 230 kW even in extreme cold. Without preheating, charging speeds would barely reach 50 kW.
