I just made this for my grand daughter 16 Birthday. This is a great cake. The mousse is light and the taste is so delicious!! I also made the cheese cake and added it to the bottom. I made it into a strawberry mousse cheesecake birthday and it was great!! Thank you. I just knew how to post a picture of my cake to show it off. Mahalo for great receipes.

I made this strawberry torte yesterday. I recommend that you make the strawberry puree first and save it so it's ready when called for then make the shortcake. I put the shortcake in the refrigerator so it was cool when I added the strawberry mousse. To make the puree use a food processor and then strain the seeds out with a fine strainer. I mixed the gelatin in the water like in the direactions but I took too much time preparing the strawberry puree. The gelatin set up on me and as a result wasn't in a usable form for the strawberry mousse. A key point is that you definitely want to keep the finished shortcake in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours. My strawberry shortcake Frasier torte looked exactly like Ms. Olson's picture for about 30 seconds before the mousse oozed over the sides of the shortcake and onto the table. Minor disaster but big mess. My fault - didn't have proper gelatin and didn't leave in refrigerator long enough. Taste wise I prefer angel food cake with strawberries in store bough strawberry glaze topped with whip cream. My wife and coworkers liked the Frasier torte. I'll likely try it again but will make sure the gelatin is not completely set up before using.

I Love Strawberries So Much. Yesterday was my Grandsons 7th Birthday and I made Strawberry Cupcakes. I knew I should have put them away but it was so late and I was exhausted so I just covered them with a clean Dish towel. When my daughter got it the next morning, she had Cayenne Pepper flavored Cupcakes along with little decorative beads, a whole bottle. He is special needs but he did make the hole in the middle if each cupcake. I can tell he is learning although I generally use a tool to take the cake piece out and he just smooshed it down firmly. It’s off to the Bakery for us to buy Cupcakes, without CAYENNE PEPPER THIS TIME! I love watching your channels. I learn a lot. Thanks Irish Jilli

Ha ha! love the story Jill. Obviously, your grandson enjoys being in the kitchen and putting the final touches on the masterpiece.

I like how your showcase different levels and difficulties on some of your recipes like this. Like at the beginning you showed how this was like the third level of strawberry shortcake. It helps me know which recipes might be too difficult for me at the moment.

I noticed that the cooking time for this sponge cake and the Strawberries and cream Sponge cake is the same (40mins). I think it should be around 20-25 mins as this is half the amount of cake.
Anna, is it better to always bake with electric stovetop and oven as opposed to gas stovetop and oven? Thanks!
@ohyum6 жыл бұрын
You can use either. One isn't better than the other - just what you are most comfortable with.

I try this recipe today and i think strawberry mousse and the sponge cake are incompatible together. Cake is good but strawberry mousse is like strawberry yoghurt

Actually, the crew gets to try it first. They have been looking at it all day through the lease. Then whatever is left is giving out to other organizations in need. Nothing is thrown away.

Since this is a thinner sponge, will it still need 40 min? I tried this and it turned into rubber, not sure why!

It would be much safer to line the sides of the tin with a strip of silicone paper.

Those strawberries look so artificial, real strawberries shouldn't have a white core coated by an orangy color. Real strawberries have a dark deep red inside the and middle should be red/pink -
