You da man Chris! I could never afford snap on spanners , some of my mates had them , they bought them on the drip , when the snap on guy called to collect the installments, he had to drive down to the end of the yard to get in ,this would give the guys who had no money time to run and hide!!! . Good video again mate cheers Frank 👍

Your falling to bits Chris! Look after yourself Sir. Great video as always. Very handy guy to have in your phonebook if your a small operator etc. That workshop looks nice and tidy and well equipped.

Love this channel mate and it’s great that watching the boys with you… question, don’t you put copper slip on the back of the pads and doesn’t that hub nut have anything to lock it? Like a tab or stalking the nut in? Drove wagons for 6 years in the 2000s and despite being a Land Rover mechanic by trade I never really looked at what was under the wagons I drove.. thankfully I don’t have to drive them anymore although I do miss the industry!

We run drum and shoe brakes here in Canada on our trailers. And trucks are slowly going to caliper and pads.

You mean callipers, slack adjusters you take of just under a half a full turn, Oooow sensitive subject Andrew! Is it 2 or 3 it’s up to your own discretion pal! I just do it like I’ve always Done mate if it feels a bit rubby on 2 do 3 👍

Those pads look (to me, and I don't know much) like they've got plenty of meat left on them. How come they needed doing?

My favourite axle I’d prefer to work on 100 SAF with stuck hubs then on BPW axle lol

Those winders can be a bitch, and those daft 11 point snap off bits you get in the brake kits are ridiculous- a good sneeze and they snap lol then if you use the 11 point socket and it's stiff you end up knacking the mechanism lol 😆
@Professional-struggler2 жыл бұрын
😂😂 I know it’s like there made from glass 😅
@grumpystruckshop38072 жыл бұрын
Those axles are not good, brake adjuster is plastic, bearings get stuck on axle, and putting that hub nut on with a inch drive gun invalidates any warranty, must torque up properly, if you do torque up, any damage to threads are covered by SAF!!
@seankennedy34852 жыл бұрын
Should mention how shit them plastic adjusters are mate

Good old SAF near side wrong side that’s what I say to me self when I do them, and I absolutely hate them axles there 🤮 prefer BPW or ROR mate, I know we all do it but your not supposed to use windy guns on them hub nuts like you say they strip hate the disc bolts too always cut the heads of and weld M14 nuts over and yours came out no props ya must of kissed them and spoke dirty to them lol 😂
@stemartin66712 жыл бұрын
He cracked them off with spanner and hammer first i think mate

I’m talking about the disc to the hub the ones that rust like mad

Just hit the socket on and the little wiz popper gun did the rest! If there really corroded it’s a nightmare
