I kinda like the growth Emolga had. It's nothing groundbreaking but it's nice seeing her become more of a reliable Pokemon rather than a self indugent manipulator. It especially works in "Team Rocket's Shocking Recruit" when Emolga's "classic behaviour" has actual reasonings to them.

I really like how much ash’s later companions pokemon get developed and have more personality compared to (most) of the early ones, but I wish they’d find more ways to give them use in battles and what not. At least may and dawn had contests, and I think the clubsplosion tournaments were a step in the right direction to at least give great Pokémon like emolga some wins, I hope to see more battles for ash’s companions in the future

Iri's Emolga is one of the few Pokemon not owned by Ash that has received such deeply character development that at that given time it felt as if Emolga would stay permanently in the anime. The team rocket episode was awesome and it is ashame it didn't betray Iris as Iris was immature back then in the series and she well deserved that. I believe we haven't seen Emolga and Excadrill battling by Iris's side when she appeared as the Unova champion because we will see them fighting against dragon master Lance in the upcoming Journeys episodes. With only one episode left for Chloe's Eevee (they both searched and saw all Eeveelutions, they will propably show the new type Eeveelution for gen9) and with no more development episodes for Yamper, propably it will evolve into a Boltund somehow sometime in the future off screen... The Alolan arc will be concluded with just three last episodes left (battle royale, wormholes, finding Lillie's dad, Moh) And with two episodes left for Project Mew (last mission and Go's initiation) the rest of the episodes will be full of pokemon battles and all about the Galar championship. Plus Rika Matsumoto is officially retiring so no more Ash for us. This is the time they need to develop and conclude all of Ash's pokemon, storylines etc like his Primeape and Pidgeot and even show where his dad is and perhaps Ash after finding Moh, Lillie's father he will set on his own journey to find his father. SO yeah I really think we will see Emolga battling against and Iris is a weak champion that has to rely on pure luck to win such as the 50% chance for attract to kick in in every battle, in the anime completely immobilizing the enemy pokemon.

Unpopular opinion, Emolga is the best pikaclone(behind Mimikyu if he counts) Much better then Pawmot, Minun, Plusle, Pachirisu, Dedenne, Togedamaru, and Morpeko) Mimikyu is the best, but is it really a Pikaclone, it's not an electric type, it doesn't resemble Pikachu in it's true form behind the disguise But yeah, Emolga is very cute and i like it's design And Elesa's Emolgas(or Emolga are hell) in Unova

I don't like "Team Rocket's Shocking Recruit" because I would liked to Ash's Snivy and Iris's Emolga finally settling their difference and end their rivalry before they departed just like Clemont's Chespin and Serena's Pancham. If I was the writer of this episode I would change slightly in the episode of after defeating Team Rocket that Iris's Emolga immediately wanted to have a battle with Ash's Snivy because she wanted revenge against Snivy for how she had treated her earlier. Then during the battle Ash's Snivy would finally evolved into Servine and defeated Emolga but still apology anyway which would be the end of their rivalry.

Even though Emolga does have good in her, it’s manipulative personality makes it my least favorite of the electric rodents. I do enjoy watching its rivalry with Snivy, but I always route for Snivy, except the one time Snivy was wrong and apologized.

@@ProfessorAlexSilver togedsmaru definitely should of had more depth to the plot then it’s affection for pikachu. Emolga struck a nerve for me because it stole food, if anyone did that to me, I would react the way pachirisu did. 😂
