Protection from Evil (or any of its equivalents) is actually extremely strong in 3rd. It blocks all forms of mind control; the actual AC/save bonus against evil stuff is pretty much ancillary. Every high-level adventurer in 3E has a Protection from Evil earring or something. Also, Jared is not proficient with the falchion.

Jared, please don't skip this comment. You can raise dead characters with a cleric in the golden hammer inn. Also, take some time to practice with the menus, I know the interface is klunky but it's not impossible to maximize your party potential.

The Rogue would only be level 2 I believe. Feats are 1st , 3rd, and every 3 levels after that if I recall. What you saw was the Fighter getting a choice of bonus Feat. :) I learned how to play from 3.5e so it's stuck there :p

The chance to hit the enemy with a melee shot is based on STR unless you have weapon finesse, which uses STR or DEX (whichever is higher).

Having a full party most likely helps a lot in this game. I don't think it has any scaling based on the amount of characters or even levels.

Well if jared drops this then Dragon Quest 3 snes ( there is a english patched version) Barahmut Lagoon , Ogre Tactics ( Final Fantasy tactics was based / a copy of this game) , Blood Omen or Terranigma are good choices or you could even go with 7th Saga or its sequel . other options would be Newtopia 1 or 2 ( its a T16 zelda type game) or the Golden Axe zelda clone game that was on the Master system

You have to play Realms of Arcana for MS DOS. It is an amazingly accurate adaption of a Pen and Paper RPG into a videogame. So accurate, you have no idea what is going on without a guide.

Perma-Death realy sucks... i mean let em ACTUALLY die BUT also give a chance to revive like in FF1 or Golden Sun (Sanctuary, without Items) The Falchion is probably TO BIG for a DWARF to wield it SINGLE HANDED :P Also keep going please, i enjoy these "Pen and Paper" Adventures so much

That's probably exactly why Simpler games like this had to have artificial game play time extenders like this so they could hit some minimum playtime standard and sell them at full price Like how older RPGs sometimes had INSANE encounter rates I think the other DND game he played for genesis actually had an extra -2 to hit malus applied to everyone for this specific reason

Jared a falchion is two handed… Dylan can’t use it because he has a shield. Jerd is now swinging with a -4 penalty for non proficiency, made up for slightly by it being masterwork

To equip two-handed weapons you have to unequip the left hand item first otherwise it wont show up in Eye of the Beholder. Pretty poopy and makes no sense but that why Dylan2 isnt able to equip the Falchion
