10 Years ago they where giving these 7.3 away nobody wnated them. everything was Cummins Diesel now, you cant buy the 7.3 anywhere everyone wants them back. After 15 Years of the junk Diesels build after these, now people appricaite them for what they are. I love my 7,3 it been one hell of a great truck with proper maintenance and taking acre of the normal wear stuff they last

Yep, I had soo many opportunities to buy OBS 7.3 trucks for a few hundred bucks and I passed on them. Today they're worth a mint.

I have a 2000 F250 with the 7.3 powerstroke. I've had an issue with my power steering for quite some time now I've replaced the pump but still has an issue I also have a rear main leak. But I still wouldn't give up my truck.

I'm pretty sure most of my 7.3/6.0 trucks all have sloppy steering gearboxes. That's a really common wear point for them.

So excited for this series got my first early 99 7.3 last year and after binge watching the freedom series gave me the confidence to do some upgrades on mine. Looking forward to seeing all the stuff you cover in this series and then spring so I can turn some wrenches lol. First gotta grab that 7.3 shirt in your merch line. Merry Christmas and thank you for showing this diesel noob your knowledge, best channel on the UTube.

One hell of a buy for $500 I would say! Runs very nice! Needs some work. But I bet that engine is sound!! My 97 OBS has 270.000 on it. (Purchased it new) I just did the entire front suspension. Ball joints,u joints,Brakes,new rotors,All those spring bushing, New tie rods, redhead steering box, new tires, lots I probably left out😜 I believe those trucks . If taking care of, can go for well over 500,000 miles

I agree. I've seen more than a few well above 500K.

Only one I've ever seen. I actually bought my black 2000 truck for $2000 in Franklin KY. Here's a playlist for that truck. kzbin.info/aero/PLXuXP0jVIkIYmj6jrCW0MgOdqC5CB24Uf

Good idea. I'll make an OBS 7.3 shirt.

Two things.. First Big Red here needs a name. Second definitely do as many episodes as you can. (Side Note) I must have a massive boost leak or something on mine, you got on that thing and it ran like a beast. When I get on mine it almost feels like it's either not getting boost from the turbo or it's like it's resistant to taking more air. (if that makes sense) edit: The gauges are way different from this year 7.3 to my 03 7.3. I don't even see a glow plug light on yours.
@ProjectTimeGarage2 жыл бұрын
I also have a 2003 with the 6.0 and you're right, the gauges changed a lot in the 2003 model year. Instead of a glow plug light, the older trucks have a "Wait to start" light in the bottom right of the gauge panel.

Looking forward to your series on this $500 dollar truck. I know Ford made millions of these trucks, how do you source the junkyard parts that steering column was very clean.
@ProjectTimeGarage2 жыл бұрын
Sourcing parts is easy - Car-parts.com is how I do it. It's a junkyard locater service. works well.
