It's made specifically for cutting fabric. It's called a fabric rotary cutter.

She got the dress from Lulu's and I love Lulu's because they have very tall models with nearly identical body types to me so their stuff always fits me perfectly. And they almost specialize in longer dresses so my butt doesn't hang out like in Forever 21 dresses

I have found that the factory hem is not even, pretty much never. If you measure up from the edge you’re going to get the same uneven hem. It’s a good idea to pin the desired length all the way around, it doesn’t take that long.

I have been tasked with hemming a formal chiffon stage dress. It is reused from year to year so it cannot be cut. It it just over 6 inches too long, so there is a lot of extra material. I'm not sure I can hem it to lay down right. I am doing a 3 and 3 inch fold, but pinned it looks bulky, and of course there is extra material creating little bulges from seam to seam. I want to say I am working with 12 - 15 feet of hem. Ugh. Will sew tomorrow if anyone has suggestions.

I got that same dress for prom in 2015 and even with the right size, i had to alter it in almost all the same spots. I kept the train though! The train adds a little something to the dress.

You are AWESOME ! I honestly wish I could sew as well as you, but I'm trying my hardest to get back into sewing . A few years ago, the Lord healed me of depression, but since then I find it very difficult to get back into doing the healthy hobbies that I loved, such as drawing and sewing . The problem is my fear that I'm not as good at either as I used to be BEFORE I had depression . I'm so drawn to sewing and drawing, that I buy materials for projects all the time . But when I try to do even a small project , I freeze up and can't do it. Same with the drawing .

Ooc is often an abbreviation for Out Of Character, and it refers to saying something as yourself rather than as your character. So that may be related, though I don't know for sure.
