Before I bought into Main Place 3 years ago, I viewed more than 20 units. The unit you reviewed is on the 9th floor. Lower floors are dark because sunlight is not able to penetrate from the top to the bottom. If you want light and bright units, you have to go above 15th floor. The upper floors (by Bina Puri) has tiled walkways, and large master bedrooms, with a good sized yard. The good thing about the louvre windows at Main Place, is that there's 2 fixed panels at the top of the windows (both kitchen n small room), which is great, because, even if you don't open any of the other windows, the unit is always well ventilated. The disadvantage to that is, if those windows opens up to the highway, the traffic noise will filter in. As to 1 toilet, I remember in the old days, many single storey houses also have 1 toilet only, and yet they managed. At least in Main Place, if someone needs the toilet (when it's already occupied), they can always use the ones on the 8th floor (common area). ;-) The plus points of living here, is the proximity to the LRT station (250m away), well lighted streets, a lively mall (with the right mix of tenants, affordable food shops), and if the unit needs more parking space, we can rent from the mall management. Parking levels have good light, and well ventilated. It's true that the design is old school, but at least all the windows can open, as opposed to some of the newer developments, that restricts number of panels that can be open.

I understand that there are premium floors where the units are much larger and it is not as bad as the 600sqft units that you see in the video

Yea. Those are the ones built after Bina Puri took over, unfortunately I don't have the opportunity to check them out if not it would be awesome=) Thanks for pointing it out Hean Lai!!

Hi, just to point out USJ21 station is actually LRT not MRT. Used to stay in this condo few years back but doesn't like it too much. Haven't been back since then.
@iherng4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the correction. I always messed up LRT and MRT. Care to share why you didn't like it yea?

yeay!! thanks for reviewing this success story! i lived nearby and grew up watching this massive structure go up, and stalled for years becoming an eyesore, then after years , seeing it back again. But you are right, it is successful because of the perfect mall downstairs. I love the mall, cause it has all you need, MCD, Starbcks, Uniqlo, cotton on, pharmacies, machines, Jaya grocer, nandos, even key makers &petshop . all the shops u need for people like us! plus the gym is super awesome with access to swimming pool. With LRT next door, can easily go KLCC without car. I can meet up with friends in SS15, Kelana jaya, KL then come back to go swim here. USJ 19 and one city mall didnt do well at all because of poor choice of shop tenants. great videos. Mainplace indeed is a great convenience neighbourhood mall!

Well, I never will buy a mix development when the shop lots in the mall are for sale. That determines whether the project is good or otherwise. You mention USJ 19 mall and even Summit USJ, those shop lots are owned by individual owners and you could see they don't bothered who is the tenant so long it is tenanted with the rental they can accept. That is main criteria of that development itself. Also, As you mentioned this development is an abandon project and those windows, structural... maybe you may turn this a good pointers instead of bad point considering the history of the project. In addition, there is no car park provided for the unit and is only for lease. This probably can consider as a bad point though.

Actually many shop are brought down more in last 5 years. The Mall it self are sufficient. The shop are closed due tu can't fight the hype of major iconic subang SS15 . I had live here 20 years.
@iherng4 жыл бұрын
SS15 is supported by the student and office population, that's why it's always happening. On this side of usj 19, it's more of community driven trades. Therefore it won't be as fancy as it's based on needs, not wants. Anyway, thanks for sharing fakrul. I really appreciate it!!

The corridor to the unit looks terribly run down. With that in mind, would you think that the getting a unit there for renting out would be wise?
@iherng4 жыл бұрын
Based on the rental market, this unit was rented out right after I went there. It means there's genuine demand there and it depends on what price you're getting the units for=) Thanks for watching Chee Mun!

Thanks for your information. May I know for two people own stay , u will suggest more on the main place residence or pandora Tropicana Metropark ?
@iherng4 жыл бұрын
Personally I would prefer main place because of the convenience it offers. With a mall right downstairs and the connection to MRT, it makes sense for active lifestyles. However the condition of the property is old and some areas might not look pretty and Metroparks is superior in this aspect. Their building is not bad, just the surrounding is still pretty new.

This place is like Chinese saying" DEAD FISH COMES ALIVE". The mall is really crowded everyday and they have variety of food. This MAIN PLACE is so much better than the USJ 19 you were saying. Owner in MP are very lucky because this place abandoned when is just building the structure unlike USJ 19. USJ 19 90% are built, so tiles piping,WC etc are unused for the past 7-8 years. As for MP basically everything is NEW. Now with LRT just walking distance no wonder this place is booming la!!! The famous DIM SUM can actually survive when MP is still abandoned.

Yupe. I always hang out at the dim sum place too hahaha. Thanks for sharing such insightful information Jeff. I really appreciate it and I think the rest of the audience will do too:)

"These can only be found in hipster cafes nowadays." LOL. These are louvre windows. I was sitting in my economics class at the University of Hawaii one day in 1985 when there was a sudden downpour of rain and strong winds. No big deal, right? Well, one side of the classroom was louvre windows almost floor to ceiling ... I was sitting all the way across the room on the other side by the wall ... and I still got wet! The strong wind was pushing the rain in horizontally. I remember the students sitting next to the windows getting drenched as they struggled to close them quickly. Love your videos. Great for learning and you make me laugh, too. :)
@iherng4 жыл бұрын
Glad you enjoy the video Thomas! In Malaysia, those windows are very loose and during pouring rain and strong wind, it's common for some of them to fall out... I always enjoy your short stories:)

Nice bro. The interior design also impressive makes the unit looks modern contradictory from outside... But I thought ceiling height 2.8m considered middle high already even in new projects? How I wish developer can mention ceiling height during launching any projects.. coz a lot of the sales team dont even know about ceiling height.... But for me its very important
