In Finland, 1-3 yo children sleep outdoors normally, especially in winter. Max temp is -15 degrees Celsius

My Scottish mother used to put me outside for hours in the winter when I was 1 year old and to this day regulate my body temp better than anyone else I know. The arguments with my wife over our new born daughter about this where monumental as you can imagine. I used to sneak into the room and open the window in the winter and cover her up and the wife would find out and scream that I am insane.

I grew up in Chicago. Mother was French by way of Canada and father was Norwegian. My mother used to put me outside in the winter when it was cold to get some sunshine on my face to help when I had a cold.

Similar tradition has been here in Finland too I believe, for having babies sleep outside in winter. Almost everytime I go outside I see a mom or dad/both pushing baby carriage in the streets here. I too as a baby was sleeping outside in a carriage, although in our yard and not in a sidewalk :D

She left her outside in the snow "to get fresh air"!?!?! 😆😄😄😄 Conveniently while doing her dissertation, I bet that took some deep focus!!!

Yep, babies outside a real thing in Denmark, where my son and his family live. People leave their kids outside stores and restaurants all the time, including winter. Some resent it when you want to bring a baby into their restaurant. My granddaughter napped outside throughout pre-kindergarten (bornehaven). insane

So what I'm hearing is the key to a sustainable relationship is not speaking the same language. THIS MAKES SO MUCH SENSE! No wonder I've never had a successful relationship; TOTES NOT MY FAULT!

her in Norway every kindergartner sleeps outside for nap time in their prams, it's proven to better the cognitive abilities and lessen rick of asthma. we do it in the winter til it's about 14 F.

I was in Russia for 7 years. They do put the baby out in the cold frequently. Of course with warm clothes. If the ears, the head and the feet are warm, it's totally fine. There is much less gems and virus in cold weather. It's good for health.
