I grew up in PG County, MD. Had a federal govt job and when the pandemic started we went fully remote and so I moved to save money. My advice to anyone: get you a job in DC that's at least 50% remote (preferably fully remote) and move to Baltimore. The days you need to commute you can take the MARC. Best financial decision I ever made in my life. Currently in my second year of living in this city. Hot Take: I actually love living in Baltimore.

What is your advice on searching for a job in DC while you still have another 6 months left in your lease in another state? I am heavily considering moving to DC. I visited in April of 2019 and fell in love.
@FunmiLayo
@FunmiLayo 4 жыл бұрын
Hey girl! I really like job hunting online. You can check out different job sites (Indeed is really good, in my opinion). And if they get back to you try and see if you could do a virtual (web) interview, or save up money to fly in and setup multiple interviews for a few days. If you can’t find a job here in 6 months, it’s okay. DC will be here.

I haven’t done DC nightlife since the pandemic, but U St (14 St NW and close by) and Adams Morgan have a lot of different bars and spots. I didn’t really frequent lounges much, but previously heard Rosebar was good & Ozios day parties on Sundays.

I’m thinking down the road for myself, possibly 3-4 years before making the move to live in DC. I’m assuming Massachusetts and DC share a lot of similarities in terms of cost and expenses. Do you think if someone lives in Massachusetts, that they can make a living in DC work &, do you think it’s cheaper to live in DC than in Massachusetts?
