You are crazy, he should have scored the opening goal at home but otherwise he was great: kept the ball well and added creativity to our offensive play

MLS should partner with Eredevise so that they can send and build their youth talent from there

Bayern going to cancel the buy option on Malik and sell him for more money to another team.

Dont think so. He hasnt proven himself at high level (yet). Was nowhere to be seen against Dortmund. Plus it would damage the image of Bayern for the would show they are not to be trusted when it comes to doing transfers. Are they gonna do this and earn some millions of are they gonna damage their reputation which will cost them in the long run?

Not sure if they can even do that, if it's in the contract, then it's up to PSV and Malik to make that decision. ofc, Bayern can also propose an upgraded contract so that Malik doesnt want to go to PSV

Leeds had a horrible coach at the time....Peter Bosz is a different level.....It was only going to work out .......Earnie knows what he is doing....I rate him highly

I would not be surprised if the overwhelming majority of the U.S. Men’s starting lineup ends up being dual nationals like Balogun, Dest, Musah, Robinson, and Tillman over the next 5-10 years. The reality is the guys growing up in England, Germany, Netherlands, etc are just better players. I think USSF is highly cognizant of not drawing too many dual nationals because they don’t want to make MLS and home grown players look bad. But the reality is our team would be much better if the Earnie Stewart’s of the world (a Dutch dual national himself) were scouring Europe for American dual nationals. In particular, the American military presence in Germany ends up producing a ton of dual national German-Americans. If I were USSF and wanted to be genuinely competitive, the dual nationals are the next level for the program. That’s the brutal reality whether people want to hear that or not.

Yet Davies is the best North American player and he grew up in Canada. Pulisic, Pepi is dual but not from Europe, and others. IMO, the European duals are important but the US is catching up. The MLS and development in the US is good enough for the top players to go to Europe and play in the top leagues there. More and more will be doing that as well. It's going to be a blend, and that's not bad.

For starters, you’re mistaking outliers with the norm. The norm for American born, raised, and trained players is nowhere close to elite. MLS developmental programs are nowhere near what they are in Europe. The sooner Americans realize that and put aside their egos and inferiority complexes, the better. Dual nationals raised and trained in Europe are better players and a better pipeline quality. The difficulty is not knowing if they’ll commit to the United States or their birth nation. And if they play for us, that typically suggests they aren’t elite. Because they only pick us because they know they can’t play for their home nation because the quality of their birth nation is too good and the squads are too stacked. We get the leftovers.

@davidt3956 Davies is the exception to every rule, he's the type of player that would make it to the top wherever he was born and grew up

It's becoming less true, not more true. US youth development is still behind the top European nations but it's improving. And it also varies by position. The reality is that soccer isn't the top sport in most of the USA so athletes who could be great in many sports will tend to play other sports. It's not a coincidence that our best player is too small to be an elite basketball or (American) football player. If Virgil Van Dijk had been born in North Carolina, he probably doesn't end up as a soccer player.

@doktarr Americans who keep saying our systems are improving never acknowledge that other systems with huge head starts are massively improving at the same time. Americans need to stop living in La-La Land and actually acknowledge how drastically far behind we are in player development. It’s not even close.

@user-wf5sh9ih3x Because he’s Dutch, played pretty much his whole career in the Netherlands, has management experience, and knows the Dutch system inside and out. He might have represented the United States but he was born, raised, and has lived in the Netherlands most of his life. He’s well known in Dutch circles.
