Also nice encluser for the anoles. But you are housing a brown anoles and green anoles together. I live in Florida and have seen brown anoles hunt down and kill green anoles. And both of the green anoles look to be male, their for they will fight. It was a very nice thing you did with the lizards, just not great exsicution. Along with that, unless you contacted the seller, you just supported the mass production of the lizards.

In my opinion Any feeder animal should be treated with respect, doesn’t matter if it’s a cricket or a lizard. So it’s sad that some people will classify animals as B class because obviously they don’t care about the quality of feeder. And as the saying goes “You are what you eat”

The ones you unboxed look like green anoles, they turn brown with stress but he will be back to green later most likely. This is honestly the worst way to care for anoles. She's mixing different anole species, and housing multiple males in a single setup. She's not giving them proper care, she doesn't even know what she's doing. She has done no research. If she had, she would have known not to do what she did. Literally, every source says not to do this at all. It appears that this is the exact case with her other reptiles as well. DO NOT USE THIS AS A CARE GUIDE FOR ANOLES!
@believeinshadows139
@believeinshadows139 3 жыл бұрын
@@Bunny-ns5ni you can have multiple males together if they are different species. That is why it’s a good thing they are different species. There are scientific studies one of which you can find here on KZbin in documentary form that show this. Males of different species do not fight because they do not see themselves as competition for mating rights. They are one of the few species of lizard like this and why they make good pets actually. It has to do with the color of their dewlap specifically. Only males have dewlaps. Every specie has a different color dewlap. And from personal experience as well my two boys have been thriving together for a long time and they literally sit on top of each other in there basking spot. Lol they give no fucks. (My set up is very different from hers I will say though.) It would be a problem if she had multiple males of the same species. Also yeah it is shitty that she didn’t really do research. When I first came across this video it was really difficult and still kind of is to find any semi-decent videos about anoles. So I kind of got over excited. The care that she eventually settles on isn’t terrible. It’s not great but it’s a fuck ton better than most of the stuff people do with their anoles. As for how she cares for her other animals I have no idea. I don’t watch her content really I just stumbled across this video specifically. Anyway have a nice day and if you have time find that documentary. I found it really interesting.

@@believeinshadows139 yes, I know how anoles behave in the wild. I've seen a Lizards Tale, and read many studies in the Journal of Nature. I'm a evolutionary biologist. If you've ever seen green anole and brown anoles together, they often fight, and I've seen them injure each other fairly intensely. Perhaps your two males are the rare exception, because I've never seen two male anoles of either species, or of the same species get along. Just because yours behave that way, doesn't mean they all do. I bet they'd fight more, if you introduced a female. 100% guarantee

Green anole males, and brown anole males are extremely territorial towards any other lizard within their proximity. They don't exactly behave like most other anoles do. Ok so a couple of helpful notes here: 1. DO NOT cohab different anole species, they will fight and be extremely stressed, I see you have lots of empty enclosures so please separate them 2. Please don't promote the use of the home depot lamps instead of the reptile lamps the reason is that the ceramic part of the reptile lamps can handle the heat from the bulbs used with them. Using the home depot lamps can be hazardous. 3. USE A THERMOSTAT! You are a youtuber probably with a younger audience you cannot say that you are "always there to check the heat" because you are not things happen heat systems short-circuit and can become dangerous to you and your animals. I have always been nervous around lizards, birds and insects. Watching you today with these animals has made me want to have new experiences with them. Regardless of my internal fears, it warms my heart that you given these feeder lizards homes instead of using them as feed. I would do the same thing. I have never been taught how to care for lizards nor have i gone out of my way to learn. i am so grateful for your posts as i am learning so much about animals i never thought i would. please continue these videos, they are very much appreciated!

It’s crazy how for some reason people think that smaller animals don’t matter. That goes for things like hamsters and rats to. It’s sad, an animal is an animal! Period. I bet they love their new home.❤️

This is lowkey off topic and I don’t want to be rude but in my opinion that cage is kinda small for ball python... like you said you would barely put a leopard geckos but you would put ball python in there? but at the time idk the size/age of it so maybe rn it’s small or whatever. And I don’t exactly like that your beardie has sand in its inclosure idk... that’s just my opinion ig

Geeze this is bringing up memories! Found a 1" hatchling brown anole on a nursery plant, brought him home, and spent the next few months culturing fruit flies, then mealworms, building a bioactive enclosure with live plants and mister, timers for lights and UVB... ...and the little jerk's glaring at me right now two years later, flashing his colors at me because he's still Hangry lol.

Danielle O'Berry please do more research, I’ve not made it halfway through the video and she’s already had two false statements. I’m no expert but as an avid lover and rescuer of animals, I go by this rule. Research from 3 reputable sources about care and go from there. If they state generally the same thing you should be fine but never stop researching. We learn so much about these critters more and more everyday.

Yep, it can cause impaction in the stomach and femoral pores. When I was really little I had a beardie that my mom got form her friend, so we just used the stuff they gave us and the beardie got impacted :( RIP Freddie

Go to a farm supply store and buy brooder lamps made for chickens. They have ceramic sockets and can hold up to 250watts so they are good for all bulbs and CHE's. I just suggest some sort of wire mesh if your using MVB's as they are a little to long for these fixtures. They usually cost around $8 and they sell heat bulbs for them for like $3 but the wattage is high so be sure to check your temps and adjust your distance or thermosrat accordingly. Just some FYI for you and your viewers to safe a few dollars. They work great for large enclosures ie monitors etc.

For the vines I love the magnetic plant holders by stroodies on Etsy, I like the gaurentee that the plants will stay on the glass. You just remove the suction cups and put on one part of the magnetic things and attach the other on the outside of the glass. Plus, people on Etsy make the cutest and coolest reptile decor, hides, bridges, etc.

Helpful hint for most reptiles that need humidity , yet , can not be wet . Like Pythons , Skinks , others very wet charcoal at the bottom , some plastic crate /light diffuser wrapped in vinyl window screen to keep substrait separated , lightly moistened substrait on top . Rehydrate the charcoal anytime , poke a funnel down into it pour in desired amount .Charcoal will never mold > Less need to spray , and healthier for some types
