The mixed up things in the boxes makes perfect sense. She shopped every consignment shop, charity store, yard sale, estate sale, and church sale in a week. After that she brought it took it home packed it up as she found it for her yard or garage sales that she had maybe every 3 months. But the things bought way out numbered anything sold. The museum in Bozeman, MT has a kids section upstairs. There are wonderful animals made of found objects in it. Telephone cords, musical instruments, car parts, tools, anything you can think of. I can suddenly see that everything IN boxes is actually double the work... open box, look through, sort into other boxes. Instead of, see and sort in one like with the other two homes. This is quite the challenge compared to that, but I bet the furniture alone will get you your money back. I hope there's a good extra cheque on top of that for all of your efforts. This was fun to watch!

Those movies are in a format called Capasitance Electronic Disc(CED). They were introduced DURING the height of the VHS/BETA War and died fairly quietly. They are a type of vinyl record that loads into a player like an 8-track. You'd have to eject and flip the cartridge over after an hour to continue watching whatever movie it was. The only reason I know this is back when I was first starting out, a roommate bought a player and about a dozen movies at a garage sale for $15. Longer movies were double disc and the picture quality was great on the right TV. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

@@tinarennett9041 take the wheels off? I guess that was sort of what they eventually did, though it would be more accurate to say they took the bassinet off of the frame. That was how it was designed to be used. We would take the top part off of the frame and set it into the back seat of the car with the baby sleeping inside, toss the frame into the trunk or back of the station wagon, and drive home. Car seats weren't a thing back then.

Furniture legs and parts: when I had my 2600 sq ft pole barn/workshop and did this type of work clearing estates and storage units, I kept a bin that I’d add vintage and mid-century legs, finials, top carvings, etc to, as we found them. When the box got full, I’d add in a piece or 2 of architectural salvage, like corbels, and run it as a lot in our general consignment auction sale. The older and more interesting the better it did. Same was true of old door locks and salvaged dresser/cabinet hardware.

Josh’s door removal: looks like he’s trying to drive the pins up, using a wedge insertion at the top pin flange. Most interior door pins are fully accessible from the bottom, so u can use a nail or pin punch driven up. They drive up easier that way, and don’t leave marks on the hinge’s finish.

Our family has had a Kirby for as long as o can remember. They are fire! The one my parents have now is at least 25 years old. Everyday fousehold use. It gets a tune up from the local vacuum repair shop about every 10 years lol. It needed a new plug cord once but that was probably because as kids we abused the heck out of it.

I have a Kirby vaccum and I love that thing, it is amazing. You are finding some nice stuff for sure. You are in the back half of the clean out once ALL the furniture is gone. Doing great. Have a great day

Curved glass oval portrait that Josh revealed at the end of the video. We used to make lots like that and call them “Instant Ancestors”. But, they always sold at auction.

Good work all three of you. An incredible amount of stuff. Josh you’re looking good! Alex and Patrick, always fun to watch you two excavating. Thanks for another episode and now I’m off to clear the accumulating junk in my office lol!

In craftsman houses, they had short book cases with glass doors and pillars on top just for kind of a room dividers and that's what was previously there and wouldn't be that tough to replace
