The best thing about the holidays is seeing loved ones from different places and laughing with crazy stories from the past. Seeing the joys in strangers faces when you wish them a Merry Christmas or Happy Hanukkah. Sitting down next to a warm fire drinking some coffee, tea or hot chocolate while eating some holiday sweets. Even during this dark time of Covid-19 we can still get together via computer to still cherish those good times. The holidays are at the end of the year so we can hope for a good year to come because we have learned things from the past year. The holidays have always been special to me. Christmas don’t come around but once a year so I enjoy it when it does. One of my favorite things to do every year is attend the candlelight service at our church. As for this year my wife and I never get to spend the complete holiday together. We usually just get one day or the other. But this year we get both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day together. Maybe we’ll throw in a couple of cowboy cookin videos this year. As prior active duty military including overseas deployments, and current law enforcement officer, I have missed my fair share of holidays. Wondering if you will make it to another family holiday makes you really appreciate it. This year there are so many that are unexpectedly missing family members. It just really sinks in to be nice, do a good deed, visit while you can and appreciate what you have. What I love about the holidays....I love family, both blood and blue, and it being a time where we can just stop, put differences aside and enjoy each others company. And when working, the knowledge that because I am working, others get to be home with their family making memories. Its the one night of the year, when we all act a little nicer, We smile a little easier, we cheer a little more. For a couple hours out of the whole year, we are the people we always hoped we would be. Its a miracle, it really is, because it happens every year. And if you waste that holy miracle, you'll burn for it. Trust me I know. You do have to get involved. There are people that are having trouble making make their miracle happen. There are people that don't have enough to eat. There are people that are cold. You can go out and say hello to these people. You can take an old blanket out of the closet and say, "Here." You can make them a sandwich and say, "Oh by the way, here." I get it now. And if you give, then it can happen. Then the miracle can happen to you. It's not just the poor and the hungry; it's everybody who has got to have this miracle. *REMEMBER HE(JESUS) IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON*
