The one question I really had was what did the boxer do wrong…and I figured it out after. He got paid to throw the right and he DIDNT. He bet on himself. Couldn’t figure it out in the moment but it made sense after

Not sure how you missed it. There was a whole scene in the bar where Marsellus was paying Butch to throw the fight. He said in the 5th your ass goes down. Marcellus lost a lot of money.

I saw this in a packed theatre when it was originally released, going begrudgingly with a group of friends since I didn't have anything else to do that night. One of the Top 3 experiences I've ever had in a movie theatre, and when it was over I felt like I was practically vibrating I was so amped up, with a grin I couldn't wipe off my face even if I tried. The brilliance of the script and the performances never cease to amaze. A true classic.

24:22 this took me a few views to figure out too, Vincent probably did hear Butch enter the apartment, but assumed it was his boss Marcellus, who had gone to get donuts… on his way back with the donuts he sees butch as he’s crossing the street on the way back to the apartment. Another bit that took me a second was why Mia OD’d so easily… when Vince buys the heroin his dealer says “I ran out of balloons, is a baggie ok?”. When Mia finds the bag in Vince’s jacket she didn’t recognize it as heroin because of the untraditional packaging, she thought it was cocaine… Another little detail: Vince tells his dealer that someone keyed his Chevy Malibu, and how pissed of about he was… Tarantino confirmed in an interview, that it was Butch (Bruce Willis) who keyed Vince’s car off screen, after the two had a confrontation at the bar.

I saw this back in the 90s, it toally blew me away. It's a masterpiece, Tarantino at his best..not that he doesn't have other great movies. The entire cast is incredible, but yes, Jackson and Travolta are the best.

"I'm interested to see how this unfold here" haha, I bet you didn't think Butch's story would play out like that. Some day watch it again, you'll pick up on all the little things that give this movie more depth than it seems to have on first viewing. Travolta's character Vincent gets 'in the face of the Willis character in the bar. Vincent is very judgmental, this pops up in other parts of the movie too. Vincent pays the price though. And who is the one to kill him? Butch. Marcellus tells Butch to forget his pride, what happens to Marcellus's pride? The movie is filled with interconnected elements.

Jules decided to retire because of the "miracle" with the bullets and Vincent was making fun of him. Because of retirement Jules gets to live and Vincent dies in Butch aparment. I also liked when Jules said to Brett how Marcellus Wallace dont like to be f....d by anyone except for mrs Wallace. We all saw what happend later

watch all his movies reversal X's and you will catch that most interact with one another, either a character in the movie, related in some way with one in another movie somehow, or an actor within a movie, like Chris Penn in Resivior Dogs is sitting with several others at a resteraunt and Madonna sound track playing in the back ground, as the Muzack at the diner, and all the characters start talking about Madonna, what does like a virgin sing means. . . and they go on & on @ her . .at that time in real life Sean Pen & Madonna were married. and other times a character like Micheal Madsonin the same movie Resivior Dogs, was talking about his parole officer is Skagnetti and an ASS, who got promoted after making a big undercover big bust on A BUNCH OF COCAIN , AND BUSTED MOFFIA GUYS + BIG GUYS IN HOLLYWOOD FAMOUS DIRRECOTOR ETC. . . and Sean Penn was Spaghetti in that movie, and Sean penn is who Michael Madson 8S tell about his parole officer ! blows your MInd when they make references to characters in another movie. . all hard to catch . .

This movie revived Travolta's career since he had lost the looks to do his previous heart-throb roles. It also made Sam Jackson a household name. In the Marvel movie where his character's death is faked, the tombstone has the (fake) scripture reference he loved to use as a Eulogy for his victims here.

Tarrentino is a filmmaker's film maker, but he is not one of those high-brow "auteurs". He makes the films HE wants to make, and he is first and foremost a storyteller, and a fantastic one at that. "Inglourious Basterds" is another great example of his genius.

I had never seen a movie like this before and I was just captivated by it. normally when they mess with the timeline of the movie like they did here I don't like it but it really worked for me in this. Travolta sky rocketed to fame in the 70's with his roles in the Welcome back Carter tv show, and the movies Saturday night fever, Grease and a cameo in Carrie. And I think Urban Cowboy which sort of sucked. But then he sort of fell off the planet for a decade or more. Then he was in this movie and for a short while he became an even bigger star than before. OH, the dude can really dance too. You should see his moves in Saturday Night Fever.

Sean Penn, one movie has an undercover cop the next the son if a big media guy. same with Christopher Walken, Uma & Samuel L.Jackson is different type characters in2 or 3 movies so smart

*The Jack Rabbit Slims dance contest scene, they actually came in 3rd, Vice stole the 1st place trophy. *The reason Vince is in the bathroom everytime something important happens is because of constipation from too much opioids, heroin in his case. *In the OD scene Mia OD'ed because what she pulled out of Vince's pocket was heroin and she thought it was cocaine. You only need to snort a little bit of heroin to get off and she did it like it was coke, far far far too much. *Fruit Brute was made by the same people that make Count Chocula and Frankenberry. It's mascot was a werewolf. The tasted like shit and didn't last long. *The phrase you're searching for is "She looks dead" LOL *Marcellus was on his way back to Butch's with coffee and doughnuts for him and VINCE *You can make anything funny as long as you arrange the joke properly :) AND yes it's ok to laugh at the lines during intense scenes. Gotta love the paradoxical jeux position of it all. *I wanna know where Jimmy buys his coffee!!!!!! *And it all begins where it ends :) *The film leaves what's in the case to speculation. I've heard everything from the mundane that it's gold to the insane that it's Marcellus Wallace's soul Everyone in this movie absolutely kills their roles. I think it's one of the most creatively edited movie ever as far as scene order goes. Another thing that makes it special is the casual conversation going on between the characters. This and a few other reasons make it one of my favorite movies ever and I really love watching people watch it for the first time. You played it a little safer than most with scene segments that made the cut LOL. However I'm so so so glad it blew your mind and that you thoroughly enjoyed it. Peace

The theory about the soul has to do with the focus on the bandaid on the back of Wallace's neck. The tradition is that Wallace sold his soul to the devil, and the back of the neck is where the devil takes it from.

The Geek? It's a BDSM thing. He's a volunteer, of sorts, a participant in their games. At the time this was made, the word "geek" was sort of in transition. in the past, it had meant a performer at the bottom of the status pile in a carnival sideshow, the guy who might swallow rats and regurgitate them. That sort of thing. Stomach turning acts you couldn't look away from. And when this film was made, it had not fully acquired it's use as a synonym for techno-nerd. Today, it has a dual association with elements of old-school BDSM geeks and nerd culture, furries, etc. I once found a geek box during a search. No question of what it was. Shaped to accommodate a person sitting up. The owner of the place pretty much admitted that's what it was.

Here's an intellectual exercise for you, Mr. Salvo: place all the scenes in the movie in their proper chronological order. Don't miss Tarantino's other classic 90s gangster flick, "Reservoir Dogs." Another classic 90s gangster flick is "The Usual Suspects," directed by Bryan Singer. Its title is a reference to a line in the legendary Humphrey Bogart movie "Casablanca," which is also definitely worth a watch.

David Caridine played Cain, and who pops up in kill Bill David Carridine. Just as Pam Greer was referenced about a character Foxy Brown she played in the 60's tv show I real life , then Pam Greer popped up as Jackie Brown and on and on and on master pieces all as Hitchcock did written directed produced and played a character in many of his own movies. also he picked out the actors the music and even like Dyskvto Dawn when he was just a co writter with Robert R. Cheech M. played 2 or 3 characters in the same movie ! lol you know who's idea that was im sure.

First time I saw this I'm not sure I followed everything that happened, especially with the flip in time. Also I was so 'straight' back then that I felt there were things I SHOULDN'T laugh at. Now I'm older I can really appreciate this film and the dark humor in it. I think that, like you said, one of the things that makes it is the dialogue between Vince and Jules. It seems very natural, the sort of silly shit that friends will talk about, with just the right amount of dry humor in there.
