I just made it. It's delicious and super moist! It's the first time I've made pumpkin bread and it was a hit!! I baked it in the oven because my husband loves the little crusts on top.

Who knew? What a great tip to share. Nothing worse that heating up the whole house when it's hot outside. I live in the northeast and come winter i am using any excuse to turn on the oven. That being said i will surely try this method. Zucchini bread in the summer without it heating up the whole house, Yes! Thanks a bunch! It's such an interesting and useful tip you could put that in the title.

I’m glad you liked the video! It’s very hot most all of the year in South Georgia and making sweet bread in the Crockpot has been a true game changer for me. The same method should work well for Zucchini Bread too. Please let me know how it turns out. Thanks for watching and I hope you have a blessed day!

I have wanted to start baking pumpkin bread for the holidays ahead of time, however, my area of the country has been in the triple digits...extremely unusual for my area. Your method of using a crockpot is the ticket to baking these delicious loaves ahead of time without over-heating my home. Thanks for posting. I will definitely try this method.

I have been doing this for years and this has become my favorite method for cooking pumpkin bread. It’s hot most of the year in south Georgia too and I don’t have to worry about overheating my kitchen. Also, I never have to worry about overcooking the bread. Just delicious! I’m so glad you enjoyed the video and I could help with your pre-holiday cooking. Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoy the pumpkin bread!!! Have a blessed evening! 😊

Great recipe, I have always had problems with pumpkin bread in the oven so I tried the crockpot method and it turned out great. I found the paper towel on top causes anxiety as you could not see the progress but it was well worth the 3 hours it took. I look forward to viewing the rest of your recipes.

Yes, just be sure it is sealed well. I would line the outside of the pan with foil just in case. Thanks for watching and your question. Have a blessed weekend!

I agree with the spices . Keep it simple . I personally do not like all those spices . People tend to put to much and I like to taste the more natural flavor or the pumpkin or sweet potatoes bread . I don’t have a crock pot and I prefer to bake in oven I’m sure it will come out as good .
@stephsstovebystephaniethom7249 Жыл бұрын
I agree 100%! Spices are great, but they can overpower a recipe. Sometimes the more simple the better; the main ingredient can be the true “star” of the recipe. As for baking in an oven, you absolutely can bake this in the oven; however, the Crockpot does allow for a super moist bread and you don’t need to heat up your kitchen. Thanks for watching and taking time to write a comment! I appreciate your support! Have a blessed day!!!

Can I use whole wheat flour? What about oatmeal flour? I am trying to avoid anything that adds to my high cholesterol. I love the receipy!
@stephsstovebystephaniethom72492 жыл бұрын
Try doing 1/2 wheat and 1/2 all purpose flour. I’m afraid if you substitute full amounts of wheat for all purpose, the result may be extremely dense. Thanks for watching and your comment. Please let me know how the substitution turns out. Happy Thanksgiving 🦃🍽🍁

Can I cook it in oven?
@stephsstovebystephaniethom72492 жыл бұрын
Yes, bake at 350 for about 1-hour (+/-) or until a toothpick inserted into the middle comes out clean. It will not be quite as moist as in the crockpot but it will be delicious. Thanks for watching and your comment! Happy cooking!

Problem I can see here is that all crock pots have different temperatures on high. Good concept, but timing may differ on different slow cookers. They have changed over the years.

So true. All appliance (crockpots, air fryer, microwave, stove, etc) have different cook times. I so wish all were consistent; however, that’s why I generally try to give a range of times. Thanks for watching and your comment. Have a great day!

Three hours is too much. I found a lot of recipes with the same result in less time, that are moist and flavorful. Sorry. 🤷🏻♀️ I have a huge collection of cookbooks including sweet goods recipes. So, enjoy your particular recipe. No make sense spending three hours, gas or electricity for a simple recipe.

General slow cooker (crockpot is a brand of slow cooker) conversion is 2 1/2 - 3 hours for 45 minutes-1 hour of oven time. I’ve been making this recipe using the crockpot method for over 10 years and it’s perfect every time at the 3 hour point. However, if you prefer, it can also be baked in the oven at 350 for about and hour (+/-) depending on your oven. Or, until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean. Thanks for watching and your comment ~ Happy baking.
