Great video do you happen to know if that valve is in the same location on a 2012 X1? As I am getting that same code PO 444. I did the gas cap as well but it returned. God Bless.

hey man what's the difference between the fuel tank breather valve and this purge valve my code is reading p0440 in p0442 man my car is running rich and sometimes when I get gas at the gas pump it don't want to start sometimes

Calvin McCall The purge takes the gas fumes from tank and burns in the engine. The breather takes fresh air from outside and into tank to keep it from collapsing as the fuel level goes down air has to go in to keep it from locking up.

appreciate it man yeah sometimes when I get gas at the pumps it don't want to start it only does it every now and then

I'd check fuel filter if you can change if it's under car then ebay a cheap fuel pump install yourself. Then change spark plugs and coils. Should fix that startproblem, worst case change starter,

Well it's been years ago but i think it was only the stated code, it seems that it was still running well and was not in protection or limp mode.
