Correct me if I'm wrong, but Adam is more expressive when watching Death Note. Especially when he starts to figure out or predict ahead from the scene or from Light's script. He just starts to smirk and sometimes you'll see the spark in his eyes.

To me Haikyuu he had a more chill and confident attitude Maybe because anime is an unfamiliar territory for him, plus the filming. And with haikyuu, volleyball was more of a safe zone. Though They are both in the same realm of story telling anyway, and clichés dont deviate much across cultures

12:52 because we as viewers often forget that we are aware of whats happening on Light's end. We know that the "killings" will be related to him. So we kind of overlook that we are getting the information to deduce that this was Kira's doing, etc etc. The police officers in the show arent getting all that info. Yes with someone like Kira going around, every death will be associated to Kira anyway, but then again, how do you believe that "someone can kill a person, choose time and method of death and even control the actions before they die..?" Like it all seems way too supernatural for anyone to conclude...

the note that had 'L do you know?' was the note written by a guess meant to be gibberish with that hidden message. The attempt to get a guy to say L is suspicious of the police failed. they are two separate individuals. Light made three realistic set of instructions, and three unrealistic, using six inmates.

About how everything works out perfectly for Light - if he had done literally nothing, that FBI agent would have cleared his name for him at the end of that day 😮

He could have but only temporarily. If information continues to leak out L would definitely “un-clear” some people the FBI team cleared. L probably just treats them as data gathering tools and not reliable conclusion makers

Every time I rewatch this episode, I think : When Light writes down the very detailed cause & behavior of death of a criminal in his death note, if Light's own actions are also included in that details, can Light feel his body 'automatically' move with the irreversible force? quite interesting.

Japanese people write either top to bottom and right to left, or left to right like us. I don't know the exact details of when they do it one way or another, I only know that top to bottom is mostly used in books, essays, letters... But left to right can be used in pretty much every situation. The note with the hidden message btw is indeed the random note Light made the inmate write. He hid the message in it intentionally, I think he said it at some point in the episode.
@anisecandy31083 ай бұрын
Something I'd like to throw into the discussion, is that the ethical questions brought up by the plot of DN are interesting and complicated, Light's own way of thinking is very much not. Which I don't mean as an insult to the series, I think it's intentional. Light comes from a priviliged background. He never had to struggle for anything and was met with nothing but praise his entire life. And so, his way of thinking about justice and justice system is almost *primitive*. He doesn't seem to consider, even in the beginning, any of the questions somebody with broader horizonts would ask themselves, like; can I be sure that the criminals on the TV have been judged fairly? Are the news I'm watching objective? Were there any circumstances in the trail or the crime that I'm not aware of? We never see him be actively interested in passing on a *fair* judgement. He kills, how many? 10? 15? criminals daily from the very beginning and blindly trusts the informations he gets, not fact checking or taking into account any possible bases or human errors. He's shaken at first by taking a human life, but he never considers the actual moral dilemma of it any deeper. Can I predict that this person will never improve? Is that even possible to predict? What grants me the right to udge that? Etc.

Not to be mean, this is clearly a bit much for Sarah's patience. I know it's not possible to not do this, but I love how someone's self-awareness about being smart can lead to us believing that they must not be smart. While here we're mostly watching Light talk to himself, or Ryuk, where he's thinking out loud. So, if you probably met him, this wouldn't be what he'd behave like, at all.
@iscariot21803 ай бұрын
You mixing two diffrent things. Nonsensical note did have hidden message which was intentonally left by Light. Message "I know L suspects Police" should be left by another criminal but that thing did not happen. p.s. Ok thank you Adam )
@evilhawk4113 ай бұрын
I dont get why people are surprised Light would kill people who try to find him. He doesnt kill just bc they disagree nor does he kill just regular cops. The only non-criminals he kills are those who are actively to stop Kira. If I was living in that world i would count myself lucky Light got it, yea bro has a huge ego but he culd also just be killing the general public for immidiate and absolute power
@ruriva49313 ай бұрын
Bruhhh lucky? Why are you so pessimistic that’s not lucky. It’s like saying “well at least it went to a serial killer and not a mass shooter”. And views are surprised because their’s an expectation for the protagonist to be good, even if the protagonist is morally gray there’s an expectation that they would be a vigilante hero rather than a villain with a twisted sense of justice.
@evilhawk4113 ай бұрын
@@ruriva4931 idk man. I’d say it’s lucky a death note user kills remorseless serious criminals rather than terrorizing the general public but that’s just me.
@anisecandy31083 ай бұрын
@@evilhawk411 Honestly, we don't know if they're remorseless. As far as we know, Light doesn't really bother doing a background check on the criminals he kills, doesn't cross examine the info he gets on the news, doesn't account for any biases, etc. For all we know, he might be killing innocent people all the time, bc they were failed by the justice system
@evilhawk4113 ай бұрын
@@anisecandy3108 Light is the one who claims he varies the degree of the killing on criminals. He said those who never intended to kill, hurt anyone, or were truely remorseful would be killed of by disease or over a long time. Light mostly targets those of major crimes, depending on which stats you look at is only about 2% of Japans crime, wrong convictions account for .2% of all convictions in Japan. Once he starts looking outside of Japan he would have to be more wary of false convictions tho. Im trying to remember if we ever see him kill an actual innocent person but i havent watched the second part of the show in years cuz its kinda doodoo but the *SPOILER* news reporter is the only "innocent" person he kills no?
