Finally graphics that rivals CGI movies, we already saw it with Unreal 5’s Matrix Awakens demo, but now we’re gonna play full-fledged games with those graphics, I’m so happy as a Gamer.

yes and no, first this means extra steps, and even expensier games, and the industry is having tremendous problems with that, one of the reason of the massive layoffs, so very few games will have this quality

After playing Hellblade 2 i totaly believe this level of detail will hold up even under close scrutiny. The mindblowing thing for me is that CD Projekt RED is working with Nvidia on their version of EU5 with all the features but more focused on path tracing and I guess first iteration of that engine will be in Wukong, then with Wither 4 and finally next Cyberpunk which gets me super excited because if anything this engine is perfect for creating Night City and high poly characters.

This is such a horrible take. Just because we get better graphics does not mean every game will look like this, and it is definitely NOT going to lose the video game feel. Think about games like until dawn or the quarry, and how much better they would be with this level of realism. It's not just "cool, I guess." This is an incredible step forward in our ability to create an otherworldly experience.

@@WtchDctr Maybe you guys enjoy watching cringey Marvel movies or the new Halo TV show, or the upcoming Fallout TV show, but those feel nothing like the original games, and that's because realism just doesn't capture the same atmosphere. Games like this have no choice but to start behaving like movies. I know my take isn't horrible. For this to work, it has to have immaculate voice and body acting. When I see more, maybe I'll be more open to it.

​@sinelacico823 part of this is the constraints that movies and shows have, you can't fit as much information and lore or whatever you want in a movie or show. A game doesn't have that. You can make it feel like a game and not like a movie. Not all adaptations are bad though. Just shows and movies are harder to work with.

Fwiw, that's kinda what they are going for. The aim seems to be to create a blend of film and interactivity rather than strictly making a game. There's so many layers to the "what defines a game" question... but I think that if I can play a systems-heavy emergent gameplay-style game, and a poker-rule rogue-like, and puzzle game about fitting blocks together, and a train-conductor simulation, and narrative-focused crpgs about drunk cops... and those are all games... then I think a realistic, cinema-quality narrative with action elements should count too. Recognizing you aren't saying it ISN'T a game, just saying that "video game" feel is an abstract concept that, idk, isn't a tangible thing. I think its pretty subjective and probably differs greatly from person to person. idk, hope I'm not sounding like a jerk, not meaning to anyway.

The developers involved in this game are the very same comrade of Sweet Baby inc that attack gamers egregiously while fanning the division among gamers . It is time for gamers to stand up for ourselves and you game makers need to get our msg this time . We do not want racist dev , wearing the mask of " DEI " and blaming gamers because we are not allowed to have opinions while beautiful women became a taboo and dirty words in your game .

That impressive smoke in heterogenous volume is super heavy and useful only to render cinematics. They even admitted in presentation that it's "experimental" and they are looking into optimizing it further to maybe use in games. So yeah, this mostly is a cutscene/cinematic level presentation that may need some downgrades to run on consoles.
