In this comprehensive analysis, the unfolding events in Ukraine post-2014 shed light on Russia's blatant disregard for international norms and laws. Ever since Putin ascended to power, a resurgence of imperialist geopolitical motives became evident, reshaping Russia's view of Ukraine as a mere extension of its sphere of influence. Despite Ukraine's sovereign status following the Soviet Union's collapse, Russian elites persisted in considering it an inevitable part of Russia's realm.
Putin's response to Ukraine's pro-Western leanings, notably during the 2004 Orange Revolution and later the 2014 Revolution of Dignity, exemplifies Russia's intolerance of Ukrainian independence. Exploiting post-revolutionary chaos, Russia annexed Crimea through a dubious referendum conducted under the guise of legitimacy but backed by a visible presence of Russian troops.
Subsequently, Russia aimed to destabilize Eastern Ukraine, fomenting separatist sentiments in regions like Donbas. Through support of local oligarchies and manipulation of pro-Russian sentiment, Russia orchestrated the emergence of political entities aligned with its interests. Orchestrated incidents, including the takeover of administrative buildings by pro-Russian groups and the subsequent military intervention, underscored external interference and orchestrated upheaval in the region.
Russia's direct involvement escalated with the covert deployment of troops, arming of separatists, and orchestrating armed conflicts in Donbas, all while denying its role. Evidence of Russian troops' involvement, leaked phone conversations, and the downing of a civilian aircraft affirmed Russia's active military participation, leading to international outcry and accusations of violating sovereignty and international law.
Moreover, Russia's continuous denial of involvement and manipulation of peace negotiations, despite signed agreements like the Minsk Protocols, further exemplified a lack of adherence to diplomatic solutions and disregard for international accords. The collapse of ceasefires and continued military actions exposed Russia's insincerity and non-compliance with international resolutions.
In summary, Russia's actions in Ukraine, from annexation to covert military interventions, have systematically violated Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity. The orchestrated chaos, armed interventions, and denial of involvement in the face of evidence underscore Russia's blatant disregard for international laws and norms, perpetuating conflict and instability in the region.

Predominantly Russian-speaking means nothing. Most of urban Ukrainian are predominantly Russian-speaking. For example in Kyiv. Russian speaking and pro-Russian has a some correlation but it is overrated. Much more important is a history of region. There were many pro-Ukrainian habbitant in Donbass before the war. And polling made in 2013 tells that there wasn't any majority who wants to Russia. It happened only because pro-Russian people took the force initiative backed by Russian military groups led by Girkin. He actually admitted that.

I remember in Kharkiv some of those pro russian people were arguing that joining russia will give them bigger wages and pensions, which is quite an important part of mentality of those people who where raised by soviet doctrine of state doing everything for them like providing jobs from which they can't be fired and so on. Like despite all those talks about their deep morality and decaying West they had an extremely mercenary thinking of "fighting for whoever pays more", like those pensioners could've join wagner or something if they were given bigger pensions and kilo of buckwheat

There are sever crucial things not mentioned in this video. 1. There is a mentioning that so called "separatist demonstrations" were organized and orchestrated from russia. However there is not a single word about how russian citizens were taken from russia by buses to Donetsk and other cities en masse. Locals who joined the demonstration did not know the real goal of the meeting (the capturing of administrative buildings). They were just used as a crowd. 2.During Ukrainian "along the border" operation Ukrainian soldiers were CONSTANTLY shelled directly from russia. russia denies this fact, despite there were videos of GRAD and artillery in russia that shelled Ukraine. In fact shelling from russia was the main threat and not the shelling from russian paramilitary forces inside Ukraine. 3. "russian proxies" could not shot down MH17 plane. BUK is not a simple system - only well trained personnel can operate it. There are leaked audio recordings from which it is clear that BUK was deliberately transported from russia together with its "crew" and then quickly sent back to russia. It is absolutely impossible to recognize passenger plane as military plane (especially using BUK) - they fligh on very different altitudes. All mentioned facts can lead us to a conclusion that MH17 was most possibly shot down deliberately by russian soldiers, possibly with aim to horrify the West and to make West force Ukraine for negotiations.

There was an interesting twist to this. The RuZZians were planning a false flag attack on one of their own planes (illushin). The Buk was sent across the border into Ukraine to "Pervomaisk" I believe, but there happened to be three towns with that same name in the same oblast and so the Buk convoy went to the wrong town by mistake. They targeted the passenger plane (which was supposed to be the illushin from Moscow), but by being in the wrong spot they mistook the MH17 which happened to be flying nearby as their intended target.---Much of this information was captured on telephone calls with the Buk operators.

IMPORTANT CORRECTION The events in Odessa took place on May 2, not March 2. Russian propaganda often claims that these events caused an “uprising” in eastern Ukraine, but this is exactly the opposite. A week before the events in Odessa, separatists brutally dispersed a pro-Ukrainian march in Donetsk. In response to this, pro-Ukrainian solidarity marches took place in major Ukrainian cities. Such a march in Odessa was attacked by separatists which killed two of its participants. After that march turned into an uncontrollable crowd and headed towards separatist tent city in the city center, with which the column did not initially plan to intersect. By the time of the events in Odessa, there was already a lot of evidence of the murders of pro-Ukrainian activists in eastern Ukraine and Crimea. For example, Dmitry Chernyavsky on March 13 in Donetsk. Reshat Ametov on March 15 near Simferopol. Yuriy Popravka and Vladimir Rybak in Slavyansk between April 17 and 22.

A third of his own party voted against him. No “Banderites” have anything to do with this. This same parliament operated until October 26, 2014, where a new one was elected. There was no interruption of legitimate power in Ukraine at all. The sheer amount of approving and cheering comments by ordinary Russians in response to videos depicting the atrocities against civilians and prisoners of war in Ukraine were just as shocking to Ukrainians as the war itself. We had somehow grown accustomed to the war, but the realization of who we have been living alongside all this time without even knowing it is still horrifying. Those savages referred to themselves as our brotherly people. One can only imagine what they might do to those they consider their enemies given the opportunity. Negotiating with Russia is akin to negotiating with Ebola. Allowing Russia to remain undefeated is like undertreating a deadly infection - it will only return stronger. This is why any peace agreement that doesn't ensure a clear victory for Ukraine is merely a temporary ceasefire.

As for negotiating, it is Ukraine and the West that reneged on the Minsk agreements - Merkel even admitted they were nothing more than delay tactics! So, the West has educated Russia that the West - US/NATO/EU in particular - cannot be trusted. US hegemony is over. 150 countries just voted against US wishes for an immediate ceasefire at the UN - the US can still muster blind support from a few client states, typically of the geo-political significance of the Solomon Isles. About 80% of the world's population has had enough of a US dominated political/financial world.

As always very well researched! Ukraine will always be Ukraine. A culture that developed independently from Russia. Historically Kyiv was a metropolis while Moscow was but a village. They existed independently for centuries until the USSR decided to occupy and brutally repress ALL of Eastern Europe. Not surprisingly Russia and the third reich were great friends that invaded Poland together.

It is not correct to tie Russia to "Moscow" and Ukraine to "Kiev". Because both Moscow (since the 12th century) and even earlier Kiev (since the 6th century) were Russian cities. There is even a proverb: "Kiev is the mother of Russian cities". So it was one cultural space and even now remains so, despite the hostilities. Because this is a millennium of unified history.

It is precisely the USSR that has done a crushing damage to the cultural Russian space. Russia, Ukraine and Belarus as one indivisible Russian nation. Because the USSR was ruled by the communist party (leftists). They supported any national minorities against Russians, it was their policy. Including the policy to weaken the Russian nation as a separation of Ukrainians and Russians. But before, in the Russian Empire it was always considered a single Russian nation. And in fact it is. Because the differences are extremely insignificant. It's like the Bavarians and the rest of the Germans.
