Puzzles and Survival: How Important is your Wall and Traps?

A question I often get is about sanctuary defenses. Specifically regarding the importance of your wall and its HP, and the effectiveness of traps. For those wanting the short answer: Not very important at all. This video will talk about what role your wall and traps play in battle.
Side note: I was requested to change the format of my videos back to a phone friendly (or portrait style) format. So I have done so in this video. I have a question about super guns and I don't know how to DM you so I'll ask you through the comment section. I just obtained camo rifle. If I unequip it will I lose it? I just want to know if I can protect it (except shield)

Thanx! I appreciate that! As for SWP. If you have it and lose a defense then you still lose the SWP equipped or not. So definitely keep it equipped. Only protection is shield or successful defense. Good info as always, thanks. Can we get a vid on Alliance Showdown, perhaps? Like how best to work the quests as a team, which tasks are suitable for lower level players, any tips on maximizing resources by choosing tasks that coincide with personal or other event goals, etc? I feel like there's gotta be some smarter ways to play it than ppl just grabbing nearly random tasks and trying really hard to accomplish them, haha.

Creating a meat shield is beneficial to keeping your higher tier troop deaths low so less rss are required for healing. Once defeated, you’ll still lose rss, but won’t have to waste as many rss on healing.

When you mention throwable traps, wouldn't that be mines? And barricades are terrain obstructions which would counter fighters. I don't see an electric fence stopping a rider, but definitely a fighter. I know they aren't super helpful in battles, but I'm asking for clarification 😅

Yes I think I said it backwards. Or it isnt super clear in game lol. The trap factory or the parade grounds does specify which is which.

What do you recommend for hero’s on the wall?

Totally forgot to cover that. If you have 3 troop formations that you use I recommend dividing your heroes between them for maximum benefit such as fighters for fighters. Once your 3 formations are set, put non used heroes in the wall. Troop boosts first. Then fill with strongest. If you have her Atropos should go in your wall and stay there. Hope that helps. By making traps are they automatically set? Or do you have to manually set them? I never see my traps getting used ever since I’ve been playing the game and getting attacked.

I have been hearing that a lot lately about traps. So I haven't had that issue. My traps always work. But you dont have to do anything. As soon as you craft them they are in place and ready to go. In your battlelogs when your sanctuary is attacked it will say how many traps you lost but that's the only indication they do anything.

@@ValenceRing I am having the same issue about my traps not doing any damage. I recently got attacked and had all my troops in a safe place and got no kills from the enemy team and didn't lose a single trap. Shouldn't my traps have gotten at least a few kills?

Actually I think if no troops are involved then traps dont activate but not entirely sure. I do know there are certain situations where traps dont take effect. For instance if someone sends all fighters and you have no fighter traps left. The other traps wont do anything. Also I have heard some events dont cause trap loss although i havent confirmed this.

Walls and traps are pretty much worthless. They dont have a large impact on battles. This is one aspect of the game I would definitely work on if I was the developer(s) but as long as you know, not such a big deal. Troops and heroes to match are the most important aspect of battle and of course gear for boosts. Thanx for watching!

should you craft traps more than once daily for daily quest?

You should train (or build) at least 250 every day for your daily quest. Any more then that is optional. Traps don't hurt having as many as you can but also dont play a large factor into battle so it depends on if you are trying to save rss or if you can afford to build a lot. They arent too expensive so I say build them as much as you want to.

You can dismantle some and build again. Do this especially if you have lower tier ones otherwise just dismantle enough to complete daily quest. Traps aren't used as much as they used to be.

Hello, We are having an issue in our state. There is a bully roaming around hitting people. It is so hard to catch him. I have heard from other server that the governor could give punishment to prevent a player using shield. I’m not sure if you heard of it? Or how to do it. Thank you so much.

I have never heard of an ability to prevent a shield. A governor can give a negative title to a player. That way even if they change their name they will always be locatable by the title. Other then that I don't think they can prevent a shield.

Not sure. All I do know is that certain traps only block certain heroes. And in some events traps aren't effected. Other than that I'm not sure.

i was so mad when i discover that there was some kind of tax when you plunder rss from a sanctuary, it has 10 million gas and i only stolen like around 7 to 8 million

Yes it doesnt explicitly state this tax anywhere but it is basically the same tax cost as transporting rss. I honestly think it is only designed that way to prevent people from dodging the transport tax by hitting each others sanctuaries instead (something I used to think was a good idea until I realized the tax existed lol)

@@ValenceRing is there a some kind of formula or added boost when all your 5 heroes in you main march matches their unit type? for example all fighter type hero at +5, did it result better attack compared with a mix up of hero with raider or shooter?

A heroes tactical skill only applies when the hero type matches the troop type in the March. One thing I like to do is go into my hall of war troop form set and try different lineups mixing heroes and troops etc. The higher the march might the better in most cases. So I would recommend trying that out to test at least the might of different lineups. If you find a combination with a better might then what you currently have then try it in battle and see how it works for you. Everyones stats and heroes (level wise at least) are different so it helps to try it out for yourself. Good luck!

They give minimal plus, but very cheap and 0 to maintain. I do max per day so cheap. If max number reached earlier low trap can be kicked. Trap researches are waste, Defensive bonuses are not those give bonus to you troops, highly recommended.

Definitely agree. Troop boosts for defense do help all the trap and wall stuff not so much. You are right about upgrading traps once full. I should have specified only do minimum traps if you are trying to save max rss for an upgrade. Otherwise there is no harm in training max traps as there is no upkeep. Thanx for adding that info!
