Attacking in Valiant Conquest: Puzzles & Survival

This video started out as an attempt to show you how to choose a target, attack correctly and how to manage attacks with defense. While I show my method of selecting targets, choosing which troops to send for my initial and follow up attacks, I ended up failing in my defense attempts. So while this was meant to be a video on what to do, it ended up a video on exactly what not to do. I should have taken my own advice. My tip is usually attack a few hourse before Valiant is over...like maybe before you go to bed for the night. And that way, you get all of the advantages and rewards, and will only be without troops that get injured or killed for a few hours.

WOW talk about taking one for the team. Thank you for sharing it's always a pleasure. Glad your channel has grown and you are now a bonafide mouthpiece for Puzzles and Survival. Also I know you said you use DR for escape but I find using the RR better for avoiding attacks. The reason why is if you're being attacked most likely it's someone who's probably going to kill your troops and you're going to take a loss so that means I want to get out of the area completely and not revisit anytime soon. Now if I use a DR to avoid an attack most likely I will be in closer proximity because you don't have that much time to scroll across the map. Also you may use more DRS than you want by using them to avoid attacks because most likely you're going to Port somewhere close to where someone just attacked you which gives them an opportunity to not only keep an eye on you but to also probably attack again. And also using the DRs so close some of their buddies could see or other neighboring alliances could jump in. Using the RR does not guarantee me being out of enemies range either however more than likely when I use it I am out of the range of attack. I have never used a RR and I'm in the same area or at least close enough to still be attacked. But that's just my game experience it works better for me to escape.JMO Love your vids man. Keep it up.

Thanx for all the kinds words! I definitely appreciate the support and for watching! As for the difference between DR and RR (direct relocate vs random relocate for those that don't know). Random relocate does generally give a large jump away from where you are (no guarantees). The problem with RR is; If an enemy is marching towards your sanctuary and you use RR, then the hit will land instantly. If you use a DR while they are marching towards your sanctuary then the hit will NOT land. This is the reason to use DR vs RR. In the video I got clobbered twice and if I would have used RR first then I only would have taken the 1st hit so there is that. Normally I put myself in a better position though, then I use DR to evade the attack completely then I agree I use a RR to port somewhere random quickly. But this is only good if there is no incoming marches! Thanx for your feedback and sharing your experience!

@@ValenceRing Yes this is true. It even tells you when you port/park using it. That makes a huge difference when it comes to the technicality of things. I've never seen it happen. I want to test it out now to see if I can find a loop or something. Hopefully it never happens lol Something else I've just been ripped off about. If your marching towards a rss tile and another player is in route as well, you can activate your shield and they will recall automatically if while in route to avoid battle collision. You've probably already known this but it's a cool tip for those who don't. Thank you so much for your reply and feedback. Happy Hunting

Yes they added the shield functionally a few updates ago to prevent the force popping of shields.

Not sure how you mean. Every tile hits an enemy if it's in line with them. Some heroes (like ulrik) spread out damage so when one gets hit they all get hit. Some heroes skills attack multiple targets or all targets and some skills have splash damage. And some skills do damage over time meaning the enemy is going to take damage every round whether or not they are hit with a tile. Other then that I'd have to see it to know what you are referring to.

My question is how do I determine what is poor, moderate and high might for whatever level HQ I'm facing? Like what would be great is some sort of chart that breaks this down. Say we use your guidance from this video, there's no way for me to extrapolate this information and apply it to my level 27 sanctuary. I hope that made sense

The problem with might is that even though we can see someones might we can't see how it's distributed. So someone could have 100 million might in t1 troops or they could have 100 million might in upgrades. The main thing to look at isn't might but what their gear chips modules and cubes look like. That will give you a better indication of what you may be facing.

Thanks again Val for a great vid! Im wondering though, for server v. server events, do you know how the matchmaking works? Is it grouped by server numbers are server might? The server I'm in is almost 40 days old and apparently people can soon migrate in. Not sure it's worth it for our server to receive immigrants with high might IF it means matchmaking is might-based since most of the original citizens won't be able to do much... but it would definitely be helpful IF matching is simply those servers with similar age.

So servers dont open up for immigration until after the first wasteland war (I believe) the matchmaking in the beginning is mostly random and based off of age of state. As you progress you either win or lose your hub. Those wins rank you up. If you consistently win your hub and other hubs you will find yourself ranked with other states that are doing the same which can mean older states. So there may be a might factor in the beginning but its not a huge consideration as far as I know. It's mostly random for those that havent competed yet. Then it's based off your winning percentages and hubs taken etc. So I personally wouldnt worry about bringing in stronger players. It shouldnt affect how you are pooled early on. (If I'm wrong I'm sorry lol but some things arent made clear by the devs)

if i teleport to other state with alliancemate, can i reinforce his/her HQ? can i attack player gathering in a resource tile?

During state vs state events such as VC and wasteland yes you can still reinforce alliance members and yes you can hit rss tiles. However in wasteland war you can only hit sanctuaries or rss tiles in the actual wasteland area. The rest of the state is protected. But during VC (valiant conquest) the entire state is open to attack.

Just curious but I see you hardly have any traps. I can remember in other videos you had good amount of traps. And in this video both attacks showed zero trap loss. Have you im assuming been attacked prior to this video and lost all traps? I didn’t see many when you went to parade grounds.

Oh ya he sped up. If you watch the screen closely right after it turned red you could see messages pop up saying that he sped up. That's why its essential to have an available relocation spot cause you fumble once like I did and it's bye bye baby. Lol

Hi valence have a little question i almost get the swift gathering i wonder how to use it... Is it activate it before sending troops to rss tile or send troops first before activating swift gathering please teach me 🙏... Thanks in advannce... To use swift gathering you should have all your troops already gathering. As in they should already be occupying the resource tiles. Then use the talent and they will clear the tile.

Yes that is correct. It does not work for your alliance resource spot so if you have a march inside your alliance rss spot, pull them and send to a tile so you get the max benefit for the talent. Can only use it once every 24 hours.

Did you permanently lose any troops or did they all go to the state infirmary? Im not clear on if there is a cap or not and if the worst case scenario during valiant is you wait until its over to get all your troops healed for free or not.

So state infirmary covers all wounded + casualties so 100% of your troops are protected from dying. If you want to use the troops you do need to heal them but it only costs heal speedups (or diamonds barring speedups). So no rss cost etc. If you cant afford to heal then you can wait for the event to end and all your troops in the state infirmary will be returned to you. This goes for all events with a state infirmary. Just note that wasteland war does NOT have a state infirmary and can cause real permanent casualties. Hope this helps!

No. State infirmary only applies to battles between warring states. Any hits on your own state results in real casualties and real wounded. So I highly recommend avoiding same state hits during VC.

Lol no one does. It does happen. Especially during state vs state events. But valiant is a good training ground for figuring out what to do right or in some cases what can go wrong lol. All your troops are returned for free at the end of the event all healed up. Or you can heal them when you want using speedups.

I have a question. I was attacking in another state and got hit by a couple big guys. Lost all my troops, but did not get them back at the end of the event. They went into deep healing and I lost about 1 million for good. Everyone is saying you get them all back. Customer Service has not responded to me. Am I missing something?
