I own a Shure 58s and was given this mic as a gift. this review, as well as your Shure review definitely have helped before I have even plugged this in, thanks! Definitely seems like a for looks mic, but seems to have okay quality for a cheap "for show" mic

Thanks for the review! I ordered it, in spite of its flaws, because it was perfect for doing karaoke! It "makes" singers want to sing, because of the look and I don't have to fret over damage to an expensive piece of equipment . The mic will stay on its stand to avoid handling, which is very noisy, being plastic & all. But it's what I expected, for the price, anyway. Just leave the supplied 1/4" cord in the package and use an XLR cord. That's with ANY microphone. I'm certain that your use of adapters take away from its analog performance and is causing the noise, as well. The pick-up was surprisingly nice and will allow up to 3 singers to stand in front of the mic, and be heard. I'm very please and will probably get another one! Get it because it's economic and serves its purpose, aesthetics. If you want the real deal, get the Shure Super 55 ($250).

Wish I could like this video twice. One for the Rick and Morty shirt, and another for the usual high quality video. Keep up the awesome work. I bought the PDMIC58 because of your recommendation. Managed to get it for 11 bucks before the price jumped to the 16 dollars it is now.

Thank You for the video. I love that you went over every question I had. You went over Off Rejection, thumbs up. You played the guitar,. Sang. I listened to the Video on my new Apple Homepod speakers(2 of them), from the Apple 4K TV. I think the mic sounds good, Good off axis rejection. I can't here any Hiss on my end. It might not have that deep sound of a Hyle PR40 but over all for the price I think it sounds great. And looks great, too. My mic is the Silver version. My mic also feels all mettle not plastic. I don't know if mine is a later model. I am looking around for a table top stand. Any suggestions? And how do you connect this mic to a stand? Since both the SLR and mic connections come out the bottom.

@Podcastage
@Podcastage 8 жыл бұрын
+gwugluud 77 Unfortunately they are active pickups, and the battery is under the pick guard, so I have to unscrew it and mess with it if the battery dies. And it is a vox valvetronix: amzn.to/1NsXGhg ... can't recall if it's 20 or 60 watts.

@Podcastage
@Podcastage 8 жыл бұрын
+Farkle the MudBolt Question. Why would get an expensive condenser microphone and then not want to run it through the best set up possible. You will seriously be limiting it's abilities by doing so. You'd be best to get a good condenser and a good interface. Or a decent condenser and a good interface. Don't get a really good mic and then run it into a computers soundcard.

Impedance at 600 ohms, typo on the box, This was written up on a keyboard and they didn't have the ohm sign available, nor did they know how to spell it. What do you expect, Chinese to English translation. By the way, I measured it with a meter. I bought 2 of these, I may put a short stand on one, put it next to a 45 rpm Elvis record in a frame on my fireplace mantle, and use the other to take some vintage pics of the band and send them out for publicity or as Christmas cards. I might use them to take tourist pictures in front of Sun recording studios in Nashville, Tennessee for $5.00 each.

I inherited a bunch of these to use in a theatrical production of an old-time radio show. You think they're meh on their own? Try grouping 6 of them together. Buzz, hiss, and heaven help you if you've got six actors speaking at once. The sweet spot on these things is very small, but despite that, they feed back almost instantly. These things sell for one reason, and one reason only: They look good. Their main purpose in life is cosmetic. Hey, in a world where we're listening to things through cell phone speakers, you might not care. But these mics are proof positive that you get what you pay for. Oh, and they break at the drop of a hat.
