I would never do sleepers. Worked for UPS for 33 years and loved it. Sleepers are the reason many companies cannot keep drivers. Home each day keeps good people. I must say it takes a huge company with lots of freight and brains to pull of relay. Sad to see sleepers called the future of UPS.🦇

There shouldn’t be a waiting list for experienced individuals in the tractor trailer division. If I came off the streets with 10 yrs of experience, I now have to wait 5 years to get into the feeder spot… total BS

Florida has sleeper positions ? I saw UPS hodgekins was hiring but my license is from Florida. I know it’s a big hub

We have teams based out of Jacksonville. That would be your best bet. If you keep your Florida address, you would not need to change your license here in Illinois. Mind you the economy is not in the best shape and many residents are moving out of state due to its high cost of living. Do your homework.

@@CHSP6059 thanks for the info, I had a load for Hodgkins the other day as third party carrier with my teammate and heard they needed drivers at their hub but ups website shows no website. I want a better pay job so I can afford a house here in Florida.

Easy rule of thumb. If you run an OTR truck just hang a full set of iron on the truck and leave them on year round and check them periodically. Hang them the same pattern and direction every time you use them so you always know what you have and where it’s located.

If anybody needs gloves for the snow there’s a company called Glacier Gloves. Ive used them to chain for 4 years now keeps your hands dry and warm. Just an FYI

If you team driving it usually means you're not going to stop you're engine. You shouldnt need antigel cause you're fuel system has a fuel return line keeping fuel in tanks warm. I have very little experience with def system trucks though. So correct me if I'm wrong. Good video thanks.

Correct. A driver picks their B driver. B driver rides the A driver’s seniority.

I drove sleeper team out of New York. Dallas Fort Worth, Tenn,Louisville , Philly,Meadow lands,Pa,Catch,Rockford, Orlando Fla. 1995-2005 when I retired . Louisville made all the decisions for us. We didn’t make any decisions without checking with them. It was called cover your Ass!

It is true that ups will not hire any ups freight drivers for 2 years due to the contract with Tfi and Ups, I have a opportunity ready to be hire at PA but my manager at ups freight said that if I leave freight I will not be hired at feeders due to this contract, some friends from feeders said that's not true, my manager at Carteret NJ said it is my decision and I will loose both, the HR at feeders said quit and I will figure it out, this scare me. I don't know who is telling me the truth, any help? Who I can call in ups. I can't trust in freight, I need some one at feeders with knowledge in this situation, 😩 thanks for any help.

I would hold off until the sale to TFI is final and complete. I would advise you to stay at UPS Freight until then. DO NOT LEAVE FREIGHT UNTIL ITS OFFICIAL.

Around $150,000 a year or so is what you’ll bring in. Always on the road, my dad is a trucker and ended up in the hospital for a month after his teammate flipped the tractor while my dad was sleeping. Be safe out there

Not true at all. Arizona has NO chain law. Neither does ID. The states that have a chain carry law are CO, and WA, and WA is from Nov-Apr. Most states are on an “as needed-basis”.
