@bosco1603 Absolutely! Looked at the Seiko Solar Sumo GMT, unfortunately, the bezel looks super cheap and the bracelet is a let down. A good Promaster Eco Drive GMT would be awesome.

Same, I'm a mechanical engineer and my daily driver is a Seiko Solar divewatch. Mechanical movements are cool, but how a photon-driven watch functions isn't any less intresting or cool to me, honestly, I think it's even more cool.

As the poster of the question, I totally thought the answer would go down the direction of the railway engineers or a military aspect (royal engineers, naval navigators, etc.). But yes, as an engineer (and always will be) I do think that a no-nonsense time and date, dependable time-keeper through thick and thin is the definition of an “engineer’s watch”.
@Anirossa
@Anirossa 2 ай бұрын
@@mclovinhawaii3905 Can only speak from my own experience as a young mech. engineer. My mech. engineer professors more or less all wore chronographs, students in my class had mostly smart watches, G-shocks and also remember one having mechanical prx. What I have seen in wider terms from engineers however, is that we seem to be drawn in by very functional watches, so watches that are very easy to read or have great functionality. Personally, I am extremely drawn to the sinn 556a, Laco, Stowa, IWC as well as some glashutte original watches.

I don't think I've ever laughed as hard as I did when Mark made that face at 24:50 in reaction to TGV saying the highest he'd go is Casio and anything after that is superfluous. Hi TGV! Thank you for your great work into the watch world! Your videos inspired me to start a KZbin channel about watches. A few years ago I saw you on KZbin and I couldn’t stop watching your videos since then. You are a true influence for me as from watching your videos I found a lot about watches and history and horology and I bought a lot of watches as well. Now I have a huge collection, especially Casio, suitable for my budget and from time to time I dedicate a few hours a week from my busy teacher job to review and share them with the watch community on KZbin! I’ m looking forward to the next featured release with you and Marc. Ciao from Europe!🤗

Hello gentlemen. Thank you both for yet another brilliant episode as always super enjoyable and interesting to watch . Sneaky question/suggestion 😏Would you ever consider reviewing some of the best aftermarket watch bracelets? There are so many out there on the market and they can be and surely are a great addition to the watches we own and love. It came to my mind as I have recently purchased my JB Forstner Comfit mesh and I know my Longines will never see its original bracelet no more

With regards to grail I’m more vintage inclined, and recently I’ve been trying to find at least one grail from every decade (or even an inspired re-release) starting with the 30s. Some of my personal choices would be… 1. Gold plated American watch from the 30s (depression/prohibition era) 2. WW2-era pilot watch from early 40s 3. My father’s birth year watch from 50s which I was able to acquire a couple years ago 4. Casio calculator watch from the 80s which I was also able to acquire recently in good working condition. 5. Still confused about 60s, 70s, 90s and 00s. What are your thoughts?

I have 2 LV watches in my collection. One diver, which design wise I absolutely love (and get a lot of compliments about), and the other is the LV277 Chronograph with the El Primero movement. I'm a fan of the El Primero, but not a fan of the designs at the time. So the LV was a great solution! Love it. And as you mentioned Montblanc, I also own a Montblanc Rieussec. A fabulous and original one-pusher chronograph. Look at that movement, just stunning!

I love the collab vids. I always gain knowledge from you two. I have a small KZbin channel where I do a mix of Watch reviews along with other items that I dig. But wondering if I should mainly focus on 1 type of content? I feel like mixing things up feels creatively right for me but of course, I want to grow. Question: It seems like I hear so many Rolex owners say that buying a watch that looks like a Rolex model (Sub, DateJust, etc) means you wish you had the real thing. But for the past 75 years, Rolex designers have engrained what a watch should look like into our culture. So much so that its hard for todays watch designers to come up with something that strays from those standards and still becomes iconic itself. Like the Bel Canto or most of Chaykins designs. What are your thoughts on watches that look so much like Rolex models? SeaStar, ProMaster, Hydroconquest, Tsuyosa, PRX and so on?

I’d absolutely LOVE to see you guys collaborate on a digital watch. Just throwing that out there haha! Also, a question - I think it’s entirely possible to have a two watch collection. Although not desirable by any means lol. I think you may have already answered this in the video indirectly, but what would yours be and why? I’m a very active “outdoorsy” kind of guy. So, based off of my lifestyle. Mine would be the Seiko speedy - (Panda dial) and the G Shock 5610u. Also your taste in books TGV is top class!
